Cool O hai thar~ new user here :-)

Hello everyone.
I am glad to be a part of this community. I booked my ninja already but will get it shipped in 2 months.

About me: 22 year old Indian who is crazy about bikes and strongly prefer bikes over cars anyday. Bikes's engine sound is like music for me and i can never get enough of it.i love to accelerate than speeding. Yeah i am thin so i am light as feather.. Ahaha
I have driving experience of 5 and a half years and on indian roads XD (makes me feel like a champ LOL)

My first bike: It 'is' bajaj pulsar 180cc with single cylinder.17 bhp and accelerates fast enough. Its sound is impressive since i never went easy on this bike..lol
Never had a crash on it yet but yeah.. Did fall many times at 0 kmph . Knce even with my gf XD hAha (she wasnt hurt at all.i used full force to lessen impact XD)
My poor bike was made to go @ max speed of 115 kmph within 4 hours after getting it out of showroom by my asshole but still a dear friend.yeah it was for many km he didnt leAve throttle.

Reasons i chose ninja 250 for :

In india, bikes cost A lot. Affording higher cc bike would burn a huge hole in my pocket. Thiz bike will cost me 300,000 indian currency if i decide to pay cash..
Thats around 7k us dollars if i ignore sudden plunge in indian economy which is to be normal very soon.
It costed so much because of costs of importing it.650R was my target but it would have costed 480,000.
+ i am a diehard fan for pure black bikes without any vinyls.
I will surely upgrade my bike after many years though but i will make sure its quad cylinder XD (dat sound QQ)

What i want in my bike?
MAX ACCELERATION!! Yeah well i wish you all can help me with modification to be done to increase power of my bike ^^ i even searched for Turbo but no one mentioned it's cost and it's availability.

And i want a wider rear tire even if it screws up its nimbleness.

Please share your performance fixes and please suggest me the best ones with your own personal experience!

So they make a fool out of us -.-

I searched online and saw removing snorkel boosts bhp by 1.5 and sound gets better XD. Did you remove your bike's snorkel too? Are those figures of your bike? If yes, with or without snorkel?

And man.. What a surge in power with those modifications!!!! Thank you XD

No thats not my bike its a bike that Area P modded with their exhaust. So far I have removed the snorkel and shimmed the carbs.

Just removing the snorkel would be a bad idea. While stock your bike is running lean, removing the snorkel will make it run even more lean.

Thank you:-)

I did some more internet search so that i dont ask u stupid questions but i am newbie to all this stuff.
Anyways i have a few more questions.
I searched for area p exhaust and dynojet stage 2. Do i have to change full muffler? I feel my stock muffler is fine. Or its compulsory to chAnge muffler? (too expensive if muffler is to be chAnged XD)

PS: i dont know what 'bike running lean' means.i tried to search for it but ehh..
I am liking this whole new piece of information. ThAnk you so much.
EDIT: http://areapnolimits.com/products/Sl...-250R-2008.php
Is the site i am looking at. God that sound.. Made me cum XD

Isn't the 250 in India FI? If so, a jetkit doesn't apply and his stock bike already puts out more hp than a jetted carbed bike.

EDIT : twin cylinder is what made me chose ninja over cbr 250. + honda bikes all sound like scooters.

Oh and yes. color scheme of cbr 250 r is too bad.

cbr cost = 1.5 lac. ( 150,000 ) and ninja = 3 lac ( 300,000)

I've decided (I've been convinced by a person that causes me to spend enormous amounts of money on awesome things) to convert my bike to Fuel Injection this winter.

I am still confused
Isn't there any good mod for FI version? i searched and what i found was Power commander that costs 300 dollars and then tuning cost. helps u gain 2 - 3 hp.

thats not worth the cost i guess. Some guy told total cost was 800 dollars.

I need sound of my bike like that in the link i posted above .. dayum ~~

You can still put an Area P exhaust on, it should still net you some HP and sound awesome. I just installed mine today.

Haha sorry, jetting is only for carbed bikes so you don't need to worry about that. Getting a new exhaust and removing the airbox and replacing it with pod filters will add more air to your engine. Since your bike is Fuel Injected it should automatically tune itself for this difference. I don't know if it will increase the HP of your bike since I have no experience with FI bikes (and little experience with carb bikes) but I would imagine you would still see some power gains.

Don't do anything until someone more experienced than me pitches in.

aha :P I still have to get my bike in jan 2012. It's imported so it takes time for delivery
But i want to get it modified as soon as it hits 50mph and will change oil @ 60 mile mark. ( they said 95 % break in happens by that time. )

Problem is that in India people prefer cars over bikes ( expensive bikes)
Even my parents asked me to buy a car and not Ninja because cost is the same.
because of this factor there are hardly any shops to modify the bike. I wonder if there is any shop to tune your bike. maybe The showroom i will buy bike from have a dyno but they are no experts i bet. No one cares for modifications of bikes here.
Or else i would simply go to Dyno shop and get their advice.

It's 7 k in India because it will be imported.
I have no other choice too. We have very less choice when it comes to bikes with bigger engines.
R1 costs 14 lac here ( around 32 k american dollars)

Local "decent" bikes we have here are the following. I will show you the pictures XD

Pulsar 220 uses Fi technology for fuel consumption. power is 20.04 PS (14.74 kW) @ 8500 rpm (claimed) with 220 cc single, 2 valve, 4 Stroke, EFI, air cooled with oil cooler engine.
Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTSi achieves 0-60 Kmph in 3.8 seconds only and from 0-100 Kmph in 11.1 seconds. Weight = 150kg

costs around 84 k in India (around 1800 dollars)

-----------------------------------------------------------------

The YZF-R15 version 2.0 – is a 150cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke fuel injected bike.
16.8 bhp ( claimed ) 136 kg bike.

Price is 121000 indian Currency ( 2700 dollars)
------------------------------------------------------------------

Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
- 223cc fuel injected engine. Liquid cooled
- Maximum power is 17.6 Bhp at 7000 rpm
- Maximum torque is 18.35 Nm at 6000 rpm
- 0-60 km in 3.7 seconds
- 12 hole fuel injector, 16 bit ECU and 6 high-tech sensors

Weight = 159 kg

Cost = 115000 Indian currency ( about 2500 american dollars )

Additional information :Wheel Size: Front - 80/100x18 47P Rear - 100/90 18 56P mm LOL. my cousin has this bike and i drove it 2 days. All honda bikes sound so bad.. And it's tires are a JOKE. Such a wise body from rear and lol @ wheel size
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Next available bike is CBR 250R of which you all are well aware of.

it costs 1.5 lac for non ABS version. ( 3333 American dollars )

ninja costs double because it's not manufactured in India while CBR is. importing costs are a lot.
I chose Ninja despite it costed me 7 k due to it's Black color theme, styling, Sound, double cylinder and uniqueness from rest bikes.
After Ninja 250 R comes Ninja 650 R ( costs 4.9 lac ) around 11 k american dollars.

And the costs keep getting higher. Infact there is not much choice XD

PS : search for more pictures if u want.
