Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving! One of my favorite times of the year. This year, I am thankful I can walk and eventually ride again. I am thankful for amazing, loyal friends and family, near and far. I am thankful for forgiveness, for strength, for determination, for originality, and I am thankful that I can comfortably call myself "weird" and like who I am anyway.

This thread is everything Thanksgiving! What traditions do you have? What's on your Thanksgiving table? (Did you know turkey was never mentioned as being part of the first Thanksgiving?) What are you most grateful for? Post funny Thanksgiving quotes or memes.

One time when I was really little, my mom took me with her to the grocery store. In the cart she picked up, there was someone else's used ChapStick. I picked it up and put it on and asked my mom what it was. She told me it was ChapStick, and gave me no further explanation, and didn't seem to be bothered by the fact that I was putting on some weird strangers lip balm. I'm thankful I didn't get herpes that day.

Also thankful for having access to food and water and shelter, transportation, and education.

I am thankful for my health (fragile though it sometimes is), my awesome rider coaches who push me just enough, a terrific partner in crime who's always willing to play 'catch me if you can' through the twisties, bacon (always bacon!), a job that I don't hate [on most days], the roof over my head, and the food in the fridge. I am very fortunate, indeed.

We grilled a turkey breast wrapped in bacon once, it was the best turkey ever!

My kitties (and my dog when he was still alive) always get turkey leftovers on Thanksgiving. We would make up special plates for them.

Did you catch the package of Whiskas treats behind the turkey? Our 3 cats run the house, they just let me live here.

Some of them are just too feral to live with people. But some feral cats are rude, but still very sweet. Its a mixed bag.

Oh, no. She isn't feral. She was someones cat. That someone just tossed her out because her boyfriend at the time was allergic. Shes actually fairly friendly but a bit skittish. She's getting there though. Whether she likes it or not she'll be coming inside when we move in a year or two though. I'm not leaving her behind.

No need for gravy with deep fries turkey injected with sriracha hot sauce and has been brined.
Smoked is good but it needs gravy.

OK, food... we have turkey, stuffing, potatoes, gravy, rolls, cranberry sauce, and pie.
Thankful, well I am very thankful for my friends, and family. I am thankful I am heathy (more than some, less than others), am grateful for my job, roof over my head and my many countless blessings.

I am very grateful for the forum. I have met a great coach/friend and learned so much on here.

the wing tips are very thin, and are high so they get the most heat.

if you don't cover them, the tips get all burnt... little foil and then remove it just at the last 10 minutes and it's all good.

Hahahahahaha this is a great thread... not so much the bacon turkey... I don't eat meat

But there will be lots of wine

There are too many things to list about what I'm thankful for. But mostly it's the moment I turn the key in my bike ignition to off and set it on the side stand after coming home from any ride... I know there's no guarantee I'll come home safe and sound on my bike so I'm thankful every time I do. And also for my dog who has changed my life and been my constant companion for a year now.
