Scorpion for the win! <-- Huge scorpion fan. I personally got the new EXO-500. But the 1000 for that price is a crazy good deal! Its usually around 300 but lately they been on sale.

Good protection on Scorpion for cheap, but man they are HEAVY. I've gone to HJC and Bell for that reason, and gotten their better helmets. My next helmet will be a Nexx Carbon or a Kali Naza Carbon - both about 1300 grams.

Red and White oil for the win!!!! Thats what I have. It's lighter then the other helmets scorpion makes and the extra vents make it great for cooling off (so i hear).

Now, I dont think your helmet does, but recently there was a recall on the visors for the EXO-500. But about 2 weeks ago when I first got my helmet I called a cycle gear and they said they actually have none because they had to send them back for the recall.

The recall on the visor was because the visor was dwarfed and you would notice as soon as you put your helmet on whether it is bad or not, and so I'm sure yours is fine since you got it from cycle gear and what not.

Hope you love your helmet as much as me (even though I havnt ridden in it yet?) lol. It has higher priced helmet features for lower cost.

If it were dwarfed your vision would be weird. Many people apparently experienced headaches and what not.

As for the ear thing I think thats normal. Im not sure if your ears are pierced, mine are and with earings it hurts. So i'd take them out if possible. But if not then yeah.

As long as you're not getting headaches because the helmet is so tight and/or your blood isnt getting cut off then you're good. Try shaking your head and what not. Your helmet should move with your skin, not against it.

Did you have a sales person help you with your helmet?

Scorpion does sometimes run a size small to most people, but in reality its a perfect fit, it just needs to be worn in a little. I wore mine for about an hour around the house just because I thought it was pretty tight, but I got used to it and it formed out a little. I assume after a few rides or so it should be fine. But wear it for a little while, half an hour or so. If you get a headache pretty quick thats a bad sign and you may need to go a size up.

Yeah but since u just got it, I doubt your helmet is defective. You wore it for 30 min and what not. If you see through your faceshield and your vision is normal then you're good. You would know as soon as you put the helmet on if there were an issue. Plus CycleGear had known about the recall once it was made and had already replaced their inventory from what I understand so your good! lol. Idk why I even mentioned it?

But +1 on the Oil 500.

All this talk about ear discomfort... I should take pictures of the scabs developing under my ear lobes.

Every time I take my helmet off it aggrivates it and makes it worse. It's like having a tiny cut that will never heal because you keep messing with it except that I don't have a choice (I commute on the bike). I already have a lot of skin flaking on my scalp, eyebrows, etc, so I believe that I have some kind of skin condition but the doctors ignored it during my physical several years ago.

I used to jokingly poke fun at my friend and his family for not having lower ear lobes but now I kinda envy them!
