New Ninja in Town - Take 2

Hi everyone! I have been registered here for a little while, but haven't gotten the chance to really post anything. I have had two 2011 Ninja 250's within four months of one another...

It's not what you think, I didn't crash the first one. Although I did drop it once...but I digress.

For those of you who know, some of upstate New York flooded pretty badly a couple of months ago and unfortunately my girlfriend and I experienced the brunt of it. We lost most of our belongings, It ruined our home, and... you guessed it, it took my sweet little Ninjette (which was stored in my shed). Some of you may be thinking *Why didn't he drive the bike out, and get it to higher ground?". I did think of that, after the emergency folks came and evacuated us...so I didn't have time. We would never have thought we would have to leave the house.

Long story short, I have a new Ninja 250 same sweet white color as my first one. I don't have any pictures of my new one, but I do have two pics that everyone might like to see

This is my Ninja after being submerged in 9 feet of flood water. And no, that is not dirt/silt on her. The sewage backed up in our area in BIG way.

what did you do with that one, I could've saved it, is still alive just needs some TLC. Also glad that you and your girl are ok, possessions can be replaced but lives can't.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I had an insurance assessor come to my place and told me that the bike was "totaled". I knew I could probably get it started again, but I figured I would be chasing electrical ghosts for years, and since I've never worked on a bike before, I figured it was best to start a level 0.

Cyberusrex25-I appreciate the offer to fix it, but unfortunately it's gone. I just wish I had come here before I did anything

You are probably right, the electrical would've had to be scrapped and after being underwater the engine would've been to have been rebuilt( just to be safe). You did the right thing, it would've been just a bunch of issues to deal with in the long run.

Be glad you didn't come here first or the road you took may not have been as short or rewarding. Glad you've got a new spanking duplicate of your ride, and you get to start at 0 miles again. Happy trails dude!
