Surface rust

Probably been a year since i had the fairings off so i decided to remove & give the engine & unseen parts some TLC & noticed some of the frame joints are showing surface rust, especially the area where the tail joins the frame under the seat. Am guessing moisture under the seat in a humid condition is the cause.
Recommended action to scrape back a little & give a coat of anti rust paint?

Doesn't sound like a bad idea. When removing it, you should be able to see if it's just a light coating of surface rust, or if it appears that it did a little more damage to the structure itself.
