David Salom has pleased the home crowd by taking first blood of the day in the World Supersport class, the Motocard.com Kawasaki rider topping the timesheets in the first session of free practice at the Motorland Aragon circuit. Salom heads up his Australian teammate Broc Parkes, while the Kawasakis are followed by a brace of Yamahas, Chaz Davies leading Luca Scassa, now returned from his one-race suspension at Misano. Parkalgar Honda's Sam Lowes then leads a trio of Hondas, taking the 5th spot ahead of Fabien Foret and James Ellison. Gaps are large, however: Salom and Parkes are close, but Davies is eight tenths behind Salom, and Lowes over a second back. Foret, in 6th spot, is nearly two-and-a-half seconds slower than Salom at Aragon.
