If you can't find a good hand position via the clutch cable adjusters, then you can replace the perch and lever with an adjustable model. The easiest way is to stay with Kawasaki parts. You can install one from an EX500.

do you already have a clutch perch from an ex500?

Not fully positive, but won't you still need a ex500 perch? The2wheels only sells the levers without the perch.

Edit: haha Kelly, you type too fast!

you would need a clutch perch from an ex500 to make these levers work on your ninja 250.

I did the ex500 swap on my 250 and it was cake! I think I had a total of $80 into it including levers and the perch.
The brake lever swaps right over. And the perches are easy enough to swap. There's a bushing the original ex500 clutch lever comes with that you will need to put into the new clutch lever. You'll probably have to break off the old perch if you don't want to take off the bar ends/controls. Then the new one just bolts right into place. Here's what everything looked like:

The easiest way to make sure is to check cheap cycle parts (they cross reference their parts) and also email the2wheel. Someone else asked about new levers fitting on the New gens.

From what I can tell the levers offered by the2wheel that would fit the 2007 EX250 also fit; 87-91 EX500, 89-95 ZXR750, & 85-90 ZX600

Thanks. I picked mine up from Auctmarts on ebay. They had the best deal ($60 shipped) at the time.
And I was wrong in my original post, the bushing you need to swap over is from the original ex500 clutch lever to the new clutch lever. That's why I bought the whole clip-on with everything on it.

Yes. According to Cheap Cycle Parts, it's the same lever.

I got a reply from the2wheel...
"I'm sorry, the levers for your bike is not available right now."

I wanted those because they were extendable...

The easiest way to do this (and the ONLY way for the clutch side) is buy the clutch perch for an EX500 (more recent the better, like 98 - 08). The brake lever fits fine. And don't get caught up in the model number game. The 06-08 Ninja 650 uses the same levers as the 98-08 500, so yo ucan also buy the clutch perch from an 06-08 650. So if the seller says the levers will fit an 06-08 (NOT 09-11) 650 then you're golden.

If yes, what do I ask the2wheel for to fit after I get the new perch??? A setup for the ex500???

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT

No mod needed for the brake side???

You'll need the bushing that's in the original ex500 clutch lever. Otherwise the clutch lever will be extremely loose. It's loose as it is. That's why it's best to just buy the whole ex500 clutch setup as a unit so you save money. Not sure if the ex250 clutch bushing will work, didn't chance it when I did the conversion.

The brake just fits right on.

Precisely. Or something like what I was able to pick up for $20 that included the useless left clip-on, haha. Just whatever comes w/ the perch and lever and you can get the cheapest.

So Ninja 650R Brake levers fit the 250 pregen master cylinder ?

Seems like that might be an easy find...

Vincent helped me make sure I get the right thing. You'll need an ex500 clutch perch, and then get levers for an ex500.

If you look at the parts diagrams, ninja 500's, concourses, and some ninja 600's use the same lever as the 250 on the brake side. Since those are for sure the same part, it makes more sense to buy levers that work with an ex500.

I bought an ex500 perch and some ex500 shorty levers from the2wheels. I'll post up some pictures once they're installed

This is why I was asking about the Ninja 650 stuff. Plus it has more modern looking shiny levers instead of boring black levers...

Very cheap. Very common. Check ebay. My perch was off an '08 and was $20 shipped. Even if you buy the perch new, it's only $40.

besides, there's more ex500's in existence than 650's. Therefore, more common and more available. Just check ebay. You'll find plenty of parts from both bikes for cheap. but it is KNOWN that the 500R brake lever works on the ex250, so that's why I suggested it.
