Putting the bike on a diet - Thermostat housing removal + radiator fan
I am looking to shed some more weight and noticed some folks ditching the thermostat housing and radiator fan. What are the pros/cons of ditching these parts. Please note my bike is track only and I track it in Houston where its hot as ****.

Pros: less weight, Cons: takes longer to warm up in cooler temps.
Ditch them! I left the thermo housing and just put a big washer in place of the actual thermostat. The factory thermo switch in the L. side of the radiator can be removed too, I used a Harley exhaust O2 sensor plug with an o-ring in place of it. Don't tell anyone I've got a HD part on my bike though!

On personal bike I removed the entire assembly and went with a pre-bent hose of the same diameter. I don't have the part number attention the moment but if you took the entire assembly to a parts house I am sure you could match something up. For friends bike who state started sticking, I pulled the state, removed the spring and valve and the put back the housing with seal back in.
