What type of heated grips do people use?

Having arrived at work today with my fingers ends all numb I think it could be time to invest in a set of heated grips if I'm going to continue to ride through the winter...

So my questions are -

which grips do people use?
how easy were they do fit?
do they really make a difference?

Thanks in advances for any help and advice ... BRRRR (although I now have a nice hot coffee to warm my hands on .. mmmmm)

Well I did a quick search of the DIY Forum and nothing turned up. Some place in the last year I remember reading a thread about someone using after market kits for snow mobiles. Must have been on that "other" forum.

Try looking under snow mobile accessories on the web and see what there may be.

These are the grips I used on my ninja. Makes a HUGE difference. Install wasn't too bad.

We use heated gloves!

Seriously though, I used to snowmobile a lot, and heated gloves are sweeter than heated grips. I didn't find any all-leather, but I had some w/ leather palms.

ha ha ha.. good job I'm not a bloke then eh? lol

Tell me more about these heated gloves though .... are they quite bulky??? One reason I was thinking of heated grips is cos I only have ickle hands and winter gloves are too thick for me to ever feel entirely comfortable in them... heated grips would allow me to keep lighter gloves on but still be warm...

Well, non bloke The ones I used were a little bit bulky (they are "winter" gloves) so perhaps they wouldn't be the ticket for you, but after getting used to unplugging them I really liked them vs heated grips.

ickle = small?

Zail, I think you're confusing him with all the Brit-speak

My dad swears by his heated grips - but he's riding a v-strom - this is what he has: http://www.hotgrips.com/
