Kawasaki card??

When I bought my ninja off the floor I Was given some sort of Kawasaki card.
Did anyone else get this?
Is it a card with the loan of my ninja on it or is it a full blown credit card I can go buy another bike with? Or is it just something I can go buy gear with? What the heck is it?
I don't remember where I put it, I have to dig it up. I think I remember it having a ridiculous amount of credit on it?

Somebody else had to get one too..

If it is a green card it is for kawasaki bucks. A percentage of what you spend goes on that card. You can use it as cash in the store. I have already racked up 57$ on mine. You also get a kawasaki credit card. that works as a normal credit card.

Yeah I gotta dig this thing up maybe I can go get a kawi 600

I think they're $10,000 though.

From what I remember the card only had like $8,000 on it.
I'm not sure I have to go dig it up where the heck did I put that thing.. I moved like 3 times lately.

I could use a new highway bike =P
New gloves too.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that's what you called a "revolving credit card" and you can only use it on kawasaki approved dealers/sellers it has an insanely high APR so I would not touch it if I were you.

I don't think any teenagers first bike should be anything bigger than a 250. I was talking with a friend last night, his friend that was 18 at the time got a 600 gsx and 2 weeks later crashed it. He died in the ambulance, they revived him, and then he was in a coma for 2 months. Changed his life, now he has permanent brain damage. The kid had only been riding for 2 weeks.

If I were a dealer I would never sell fresh meat anything more than a 250 for a street bike.

Good call your parents encouraged you to get a 250 first. They must want you alive.

Yes,
I would definitely prefer a GSXR any day, but just the 600cc is $2000 more than the Kawi.

I think the Kawi card is only for Kawi merchandise.
Surely it does have an insanely high rate.

But hey, if you can get a new bike, sometimes you gotta do what you can to get it!

Of course I would see if they would finance me another one first but it's likely I would have to use the card. When I have time I'll dig it up. It might have actually been $11,000. I think the idea is they want you to use it to upgrade from the ninja, Why else would it be perfectly priced to get a 600 off the floor?

When I have time I'll investigate further. Since my bent Ninja is going to stuntmode I definitely wouldn't mind another bike. Who needs cars and trucks accept for holding fishing rods..
I rode the Alstare all winter last year through the rain and everything going to work no issues. Eryday.

call me crazy, but I still like the old graphics package over the new ones.

edit: just realized that's the "R", i think the regular 675s still use the script Daytona logo

I agree with you, but many years ago when I worked for Honda we had 2 teenagers come in with a magazine in hand and wanted to buy 2 CBR900's for their first bike (not the first time it happened)... I was trying to talk them into a couple of used bikes we had, a Nighthawk, Magna or even the 600 as a last resort... they started yelling and said they would be back with one of their father's. A while later they show up with father and I begin to explain why they should start smaller, etc. He explained that he was an attorney and wanted to know what Honda would think about me not selling customers a bike based on my "opinion", I asked them to wait right here while I go get the owner. Our owner tried to explain as well but in the end sold 2 900's... 1 was crashed 100' from the dealership, the other a week and a half later. They boys lived and were ok but what a terrible lesson to have to learn the hard way. That seemed to happen every spring there. The law here should either test people out of cc brackets or require to start small anyway and graduate up with time. Anyway, just my .02

Damn looked all over for my Kawasaki card yesterday and couldn't find it!

I will have to call Kawasaki and ask them for a reprint card.

I'm trying to keep myself from going down there and charging a motorcycle but it's tough I tell ya!

The dealers must be sitting there cringing every time they sell a bike to anyone they don't know is a well established rider.

Actually most dealers around here will try to upsell you a 600. Me being 6' tall they tried to get me in a gsxr750!!!! I agree though that there should be some sort of progressive licensing here in both cars and motorcycles.

Jixxers feel good for us tall guys. Nice comfy big bike.
The newer ones are pretty light and very attractive. My dream bikes. I love the gsxr. I've had two and will have another at some point, but it's clear not now.
It's just tough to control your wrist when going 120 standing up down the freeway is so fun..

I don't like the swingarm on the Kawi 600 but hell if they'll give one to me I'll take it.

I could always go get another ninjette too. haha.

Either way if I do get a new bike I can't play with it. The 250R has been designated the play bike.
In that sense I guess it doesn't matter what 600 I get. Probably couldn't afford anything larger.

If you're seriously thinking about doing this...make sure you read the credit card terms... I think the APR on the Kawasaki GoodTimes Credit card is like 23%

It was 11% for my bike, but using it as a credit card it is 21%.

When I bought my ninja though the interest was like nothing for the first two years.

Like I said, if I can't finance a 600 without the card and that's the only way I can finance one, why not do it? I'll see what happens. I'll have to wait till next week to deal with getting the card replaced anyways because I lost it lol. I'll call down there soon and report back..

I was gonna go look at the new bikes today anyways and maybe have them run my credit.
I'll go try and buy a gsxr. See you guys in a while when they decline me. haha
I'd pretty much take any rate if they give me what I want.
Last time I went down there though with $4000 cash and they still turned me away

Lol they won't finance me a bike because I have no credit.
I guess I'll go take my credit card in there and buy a bike?

All that makes absolutely zero sense.
I guess they aren't trying to move their stuff today.

The first dealership I stood there for an hour and nobody ever helped me. The second place helped me but wants a $2000 down payment for me to finance a CBR 250 lol
I think not.

They won't straight finance me a GSXR.
they almost did but I work under the table currently and had no paycheck stubs.

No credit and cannot prove employment.
Too bad, I can actually afford to pay $200 a month or so.
I could afford that on just the valve jobs I do.
A smart dealer would cough me up a bike.
All my bills are current.

Ah well here's some new bike porn from two different dealers.
Always fun looking at the pretty bikes.
So close but no cigar today.

Somebody gonna let me have another one, one of these days.

Uhhhh, YUM! 2011 did you well baby.

Look how all the frame and swingarm are lightly tinted blue

The Kawi's are weird with the mono air intake going through the head tube like that but I'd probably take one and paint it like a GSXR anyways. Funky front turn signals too.

Overpriced

Would love one of those puppies.

this one would have done just fine..

But out of all these beautiful bikes

...and the ones I really want

This is the one they want to sell me.

Sorry, but this all sounds like a horrible idea. Not the buying a bigger bike thing, but buying it with money you don't have.

I'm pretty sure that's the same thing as Financing a bike.
You're still paying a loan either way.

If you can't get a loan, paying higher interest to get it being the only way, is an option.

I do have the money to finance one, I just cant show it on paper.
We own the house we are in, we only pay $125 a month property tax.
I can afford another bike no problem.

I'm still going to try and finance a bike though. lol
I'm not giving up yet. I almost had it, they were ready to roll one off the lot.
I might go back and talk to them again. See if they will give me one on an increased rate.
