Carb problem
Hi is it possible to get ice inside the float bowls?
Its just that my carb seems to leak out of the overflow when ever it gets very cold, like almost freezing. 1 day it was extremely cold and the fuel came out in a very heavy stream, yet on the not so cold day it was only dripping, just thought it could be caused by ice as it goes away the warmer it gets? |

Ice doesn't go away when it gets warm, it turns to water. Water doesn't just sit there innocently.
As a wild guess, maybe they're some kind of glop in there that gets very stiff when it's cold, and interferes with the movement of the float and float needle. "Heavy stream" or "only dripping" are very similar. They both mean you need to fix a carburetor problem. Happy New Year Dude! |

I'd also say there most likely is gunk inside the bowls that is causing the problem. You could have condensation in the gas that is on the edge of freezing as well.
A carb in good condition doesn't do odd things when the temps drop. |

Have you attempted to drain both fuel bowls? It is a simple procedure, and might help if there is something in there that shouldn't be - like water.
