Might have accidently ran 2-cycle gas
D'oh! Idiot!
It was an unlabeled can that might have been 2-cycle. Ran it through the carb. What's the damage? Just need to clean the the carb/empty the tank?

Drain carbs, drain tank. Refill with good fuel.
might wanna pull spark plugs and check for oil fouling but otherwise it won't damage anything. Some people run a bit of that or Castor oil for top end lube.

Would 2-cycle cause drastic running/idle issues?

How much it affects idle and running depends on the gasoline/oil ratio. At 50:1, you'll be running about 2% leaner than normal, which you probably wouldn't notice, or notice much. At 20:1 you'll be 5% leaner, which you probably would notice.
Having run 2-stroke engines all my life, including the H2 I still ride, if I did what you did, it wouldn't scare me a bit. I probably wouldn't even bother draining the tank unless the slightly leaner mixture caused pinging, for example. You certainly don't need to clean the carb(s) because of this unless the 2-stroke mix had sand or some other debris in it. |

I'm gonna say you are fine as well. It's not going to hurt the carb or the engine.
If you are concerned, you could just top off the tank with regular gas to dilute it some. I routinely add 2-stroke oil to may tank for storage (in addition to stabilizer). There's no difference in the way it runs. |

For the past three years, I've been adding two-stroke oil to every tank of gas I put in the bike.

Sounds good. Thanks fellas.
RX-7 guys run 2-cycle all the time. They claim the rotary likes 2-cycle more than regular gas.

I pour a bit of 2 cycle along with seafoam (or stabil) when I know th e bike won't get ridden for more than a month. However, the 2 cycle gas I use is the expensive premixed canister that I buy and use for my leaf blower (no ethanol and premium). Only reason I use that is because that 1 qt can lasts me an entire year with the minimum leaf blower use.
It's also 50:1, so little oil in there that the few ounces I pour in won't even make the bike idle differently. How much did you accidentally poured in? What type/brand of 2 cycle oil was used for the mixture?

Well I guess it's too late for me to tell him the bike is screwed and I'll just haul it away for him.

just add more pump fuel to it. The 2 cycle oil will do zero damage it is added to 2 strokes to lube internal engine parts and made to mix with fuel. I think the ethonal is way worse for bikes then any 2 stroke oil......
