Radiator cooling fan wiring

So as some of you may know I recently changed out my guages on my ride. With the new guages there is no water temp guage which is fine except I have noticed that my cooling fan never runs, which is definitely not fine. So I have two questions.

1) Is there some sort of communication between the OEM water temp guage and the fan sensor that is now out of the circuit with my new equipment? Or could my sensor have gone bad?

2) I know the fan is a 12V 2.9A (according to the EX250 wiring diagram anyway). Would there be any problem with just bypassing the sensor and wiring the fan straight into a 12V source and just have it running all the time?

Thanks in advance for any help. Need to get this fixed before the AZ heat comes back.

I'd probably advise against running the fan all the time because you'll build up carbon deposits quicker and the biker runs better hot anyways.

The sensor could have gone bad yes but you could also just be paranoid.

The switch shouldn't need anything from the cluster to operate if you were wondering that.

Jump the fan switch . With the key on, unplug the sensor on the left side of the radiator and jump the two wires with a paper clip. THe fan should run. '

The fan does not run often and you don't want to run it all the time.

So I jumped the fan and it works so all the wiring is good. Is there a way to test my sensor? I just want to make sure everything is 100% before summer hits
