Bad idea, the wiring that the fuses are protecting isn't rated for 25 amps. Only way you want to put a 25 amp fuse in there is if you're upgrading the entire wiring loop from battery all the way through to the HID ballasts to be capable of a 25 amp load.

well, the instructions for my kit say to change to a 25 amp in BOLD RED print, so i figure i better be safe and just follow it. maybe different kits have different requirements? idk.
yeah, i know the fuse block is under the seat. i am just too lazy to pull of my seat and go check. thought someone might know offhand. edit: didn't see alex's post.... well, i guess i can run the stock one and see what happens? |

the instructions are for a motorcycle. actually, they don't have a specific 250 one. they give the 03-07 zx6r instructions.

I would ride it with what's in there now. (that's what I've been doing for over a year now)
Be sure not to have the hi light on when you start the bike and that will help some with the current draw. (haven't looked... don't even know if all the lights are on the same fuse) If you blow fuse, replace it with the next step higher amperage one, though I doubt you will ever have to do that. |

ok... i trust you guys more than the instructions. strange that it says to make sure to start up with both headlights on.
was thinking about just hooking up the low beam side and running the stock high beam. idk. |

When I installed my HIDs, if I ever went to high beam (start the bike with low beam only then after 5 mins turn on high beam) I would blow the stock 10A headlight fuse. I replaced mine with the next step up, a 15A fuse and have had no more issues. I can start the bike with both on and it is fine.

15A is probably the best compromise you can make. don't go any higher.

Going directly to a 25A fuse is the equivalent of sticking a penny in your fuse at home. Everything will work fine, but nothing will ever stop an overload (and therefore a fire). 15A may well be unsafe also, as it may be too much amperage for the circuit. |

when calculating a wire's max amp capability, not only does the gauge have an affect, but also distance of run, too, though I guess in this case it's negligible.
