Oil leak AND ticking noise
So there's definitely an oil leak coming from what looks to be the front-left portion of the valve cover gasket. Time for a new gasket? Looks like it should be a cheap and easy fix if that's the case..
Furthermore, I have a slight ticking noise that many people in the past have attributed to loose valves, so it may need an adjustment. I took it into the shop a couple of months ago and they did a valve adjustment, but maybe there are still some that are out of spec? Here's a video of the ticking noise: https://youtu.be/0c0HCdZ196o |

Fresh valve cover bolt grommets with a new valve cover gasket will fix you up. Make sure you clean all the goop out of the groove the VC gasket sits in. Adjust your valve per the service manual paying very close attention to the adjuster nut specs.

Do you have part numbers for those grommets? Not quite sure what you're referring to.

If your ordering new gasket, be sure to get all of them
# 11009, 11009A, and 92055 Nothing is more annoying than forgetting a gasket, and have it leak, don't be cheap, and save yourself a possible headache. Be careful not to overtighten the valve cover bolts, you could possibly break them, cheap Japanese bolts don't like to be overtightened.

Good deal, it's important to remember NOT to over tighten the bolts.
I personally use a 1/4" drive set on almost the whole bike Less tendencies to over torque/tighten. Add to that I've changed over most of the fasteners to stainless steel allen heads, and some titanium as well, not only for looks, but for a better fastener. There are a few things I break out the 3/8" but not many.

To get to the valve cover, do you need to remove the two coils? I've already unbolted the entire front engine mount with the radiator and moved it all forward just slightly, but the coils are still kind of in the way.

So I adjusted the valves, replaced the gasket, and put it all back together. I also cleaned the air filter since the gas tank was already off (the air filter was mounted in sideways. WTF.)
I'm still hearing a ticking noise, though. Also, when I give it throttle, it doesn't respond but then it finally will. Didn't have this problem before. Maybe doing something with the air filter caused it? https://youtu.be/PzA0ofLD0ro EDIT: So I took it out for a 15-20 minute ride and it rode pretty well and no longer had unresponsive throttle. Yay.
