Did I Get a Good Deal on These Boots?

I purchased these boots for $25, used. They are pretty scuffed up but nothing seems overly damaged. All the scratches and stuff are quite shallow. I guess my question is whether there is anything that isn't visible that makes a pair of boots unsafe. I tried to take better pictures of the scratches but I don't have a good camera, so this will have to do for now:

All the leather portions looks quite good and the stitching doesn't seem to be flawed in any way. Did I waste $25 or get a really good deal?

Well, you'll find out in your first crash. Also, foot fungus.

Haha maybe a better question would be if these are better than what I'm currently wearing, which are low cut riding boots. They have no ankle support, which is why I didn't like them, even though they are super comfy. Will the potential foot fungus be cured by a good washing? (don't know if being trolled lol)

Edit: Are there any specific things to look for that would cause boots to fail during a crash?

Edit again: I think this is the pair of boots I currently wear (but black): http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...T.ac=SLIsearch

Ben, you got a steal. Sidi boots are awesome, and buying boots used is a fantastic way to save money and get great a better boot with better safety features. Sidis last for years. Protective features particularly wear well - surface scuffs are nothing to the integrity of the boot. Also, your current "boots" won't do much of anything for you in a crash. Massive, massive upgrade. And for $25, great, GREAT deal.

You went to see them? What was your reason for not picking them up?
