Removing the carb-without removing airbox?
I looked at the DIY section but didnt do a extensive search. Is there anyway to remove the carbs without going through the hell of removing the stock airbox? I am sorry if this has been covered before. I looked at the Airbox removal thread decided to drink beer instead.
Thanks Leif |

You don't have to remove the air box to remove the carbs. You have to remove all the bolts holding the airbox and shove it back to make just a little room to squeeze the carbs out. It's a PITA any way you look at it so just go back to drinking beer

its like 2 allen head screws holding the airbox in position, one on the side and one on the bracket held in by 4 hex head screws, plus the clamps on the tubes. then you just slide it back

Somewhere I thought there was an FAQ about splitting the airbox from the battery tray or something for easier access later, but I can't find it atm to confirm.

I feel the need to post because it took me a day and half to figure out how to remove carbs from the air box. If the 4 hex key doesn't work try a 3 1/2 . Took me a day to figure out I needed that lol how sad

Yep. The battery box is bolted to the frame and undertail with the same bolts that the side panel uses (two are under the battery box). Removing the battery box is a cinch so it isn't in the way of the carbs and air box at all like it was on the F bike.
