The 2022 Triumph Street Twin is A True Modern Classic

Contents
The 2022 Triumph Street Twin draws inspiration from the original Triumph Bonneville. It borrows the old bike’s character and attitude, combines it with modern-day technology, and is one of the most popular offerings in the 2022 Triumph portfolio.

Powering the Street Twin is a 900cc parallel-twin producing 64.1 hp and 59 lb-ft of peak torque. This is a liquid-cooled engine, but Triumph has styled it to resemble the unit on the original 1959 Bonneville, including details like the engine fins and twin upswept silencers.

The Street Twin is a classic-looking motorcycle, but the British manufacturer has equipped it with some neat modern-day features, including two riding modes — Road and Rain — that alter the level of intervention from the ABS and traction control. The hardware on offer is impressive, with Brembo brakes and a twin shock absorber at the rear offering pre-load adjustability.

For 2022, Triumph has added a host of intricate new details, including a side panel with an aluminum number board, new headlight brackets, and a different throttle body finish. Triumph has also replaced the old wheels with more premium-looking machine-finished alloy wheels.

This year, the bike is also available in a special edition called the Triumph Street Twin EC1. While the bike is mechanically identical to the standard bike, it bears multiple cosmetic changes inspired by the customs classic motorcycle scene of London’s East End. The ‘EC1’ is the postcode of the streets that have given this bike its name.

Changes include new Matt Aluminum Silver and Matt Silver Ice dual-tone colors, a hand-painted silver coach lining, and EC1 graphics and badging.

The 2022 Triumph Street Twin starts at $9,695 USD / $10,995 CAD.
