But, thats just me... typically you can do 80-85 with the flow of traffic on the 5, not that that is really much better than splitting lanes at high speeds... again, just sayin'

thats what i meant, in slow/stopped traffic
its just dangerous if the bike is already topped out

but i personally do it anyways
i'd be a terrible leader cause i'd prolly leave everyone behind

never gone down the 5
but i bet its hella better than going through cow pie county (corona)

i might ride down just to watch and learn

Sounds good, looks like my route is goun to be 405 to the 22 to the 5 down to you so I can pick up and ride with Kevin. I'll leave my place at 7 or so and I should make it to you at 8:45 or so.

Anyone have washers for shimming? Or know where I can get them easily? Does anyone (cough Dustin cough) have a stock right side handlebar they could bring and I could buy? This is looking like it's gonna be a good time fellas...

I was going to ask if we could do some shimming! Ive been reading and everyone is saying that radioshack has a pack of 100 3mm washers that work great for cheap. I'll swing by my local radioshack and see if they have them

Well, guys, my bike wouldn't be safe to ride there anyway now that my chain problem has worsened to the point where I can't adjust it anymore and yet it is still so loose that it touches the frame. I need it to commute daily, so I'm more than a little upset.

As much as I'd like to help you out I was planning to keep the stock ones in case my wife isn't able to ride with the clip ons. I intend for it to be her bike once I upgrade and she might be more comfortable with the stock bar height.

I did find this on ebay for you though:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2008-...item230f6c26ab

Or there is a guy selling a pair of shinto clip ons (the ones I originally wanted ) in the for sale section for $120. Almost wished I would have held out...

No prob I understand. Thanks for the links but of course I waited too long to order anything otherwise i'd probably have some woodcrafts to install. Oh well, i'm sure this won't be our last tech meet.

Cool... you know once you see mine installed you'll have all the knowledge you need to get it done!

If you still want a stock one there is another for sale right now in the for sale section:

Thats up to you... if you want to pack it for the ride or not...lol.

Speaking of which... Keven (TeamGreen), Since I plan to ride the bike to the ticket to ride on Sat... would you mind and/or would it be possible for me to drop my stuff off on Fri? Also, would that still be at the same address that you posted? Just let me know, if thats not gonna work I could always drive to the ticket to ride and stop by afterwards on sat to drop stuff off.

sixer, sorry to hear that you dumped the new girl. these things happen. you may want to consider coming down anyway, i can bring my stocky brake rearset if you want it... i'll give it to you cheap... not sure if that's your only transportation or not. besides, what better way to start the bike repairs then by seeing a bunch of things done to other ninjas?

also, you may be able to just grind and weld that aluminum plate back together... i have access to an aluminum setup mig that might do the trick if you want to go the cheap route. never tried welding cast aluminum but i don't see why it would be any different... wont look as pretty but i think some bikes look better with some battle scars.

The Duck broke his by putting his weight on it, which the MSF trains you to do. I wouldn't trust a repaired one if an undamaged on did that. It could be disastrous.

Okay, so I dropped off my clipons, hugger and oil change supplies with Keven tonight... thanks again bro for hookin' me up!

I do however still need the following:

Crush washer (for the oil change)
Nut, bolt & hose (for bar ends in clipons)

Cuong, do you still have those things and are you still willing and planning to bring them? I wouldn't mind messing with either shimming the needles or jetting too... but I don't have those things either... I feel like such a begger...lol.

Really looking forward to Sun... this is going to be LEGAN... wait for it... DARY!!!!

Slight change of plans for me, I will still be going and still be riding but i will not be on the ninjette if that is cool. All i wanted to do to the ninjette was the fender chop and that can wait, i have 2k miles befor i am due for an oil change anyway. Ill be rolling up on the Fazer as i want to do lube and oil and cables on that as i just got it So look for me on a red fz6 ot the green and black ninjette

No worries Dustin, I actually do have all of those. I also have extra main jets, but no washers for shimming. I can check Ace and radioshack tomorrow if no one has washers since they're both only a couple of blocks away.

Keven, any tools you can think of that we may need to bring? I have a dremel, minitorch, and lots of ratchets and bits.

I've got the minitorch but bring yours anyway. I have a dremel and airsaw and I should have pretty much every ratchet and bit covered (but again there's a few of us so extras don't hurt). I just need some washers if i'm shimming. So if they're close to you awesome otherwise i'll go on a mission for some.
