need help with cam timing ninja 250

I checked my valves they are in spec. I forgot to check what the timing was before I took them off I cant find it on the internet or other threads that were previously posted. Not sure if the pics are helpful but in the position I have them in one valve hits the piston a nd stops. This is a 2012 250 with 12000 miles first time the valves have been checked.

Welcome to our site, Matt !!!

Position the crankshaft at #2 piston TDC (there are two turns of the crankshaft for each turn of the camshafts).

CAUTION
The crankshaft may be turned while the camshafts are removed.
Always pull the chain taut while turning the crankshaft.
This avoids kinking the chain on the lower (crankshaft) sprocket.
A kinked chain could damage both the chain and the sprocket.

One question comes to mind though, why did you remove the cams if the valves were in spec? Anyhow the above diagram should help get it back together correctly.
