HELP. Can I cut 10 links off a new chain?

I found a deal on line on a 520 chain, but it has 116 links, and the N300 only takes 106 links. The chain comes with the master link.

So, can I cut 10 links and get me a 106 links chain?

Also, the 106 links specification includes the master link? or it's 106 links plus the master, 107 links total.

Thanks!

Got the proper chain tool? Yes
Don't have? No

"Cutting" is not quite the same as properly removing 10 links. If need be....google motorcycle chain breaker/riveter

Hi @ducatiman, than you very much for replying. Yes, I have the tool and I know how to use it.

I guess my question was, are the end links different to accommodate the master link? And I guess the answer is no, they are the same, so I can remove them.

Bingo.

Just an aside. I worked at a motorcycle parts distributor 4 decades ago
(sold to dealers, nationwide)

Both an RK and EK chain dealer....chain of various sizes shipped to us in bulk direct from the vendors....if I remember up to 100ft on reels. We had an industrial type, table mounted chain tool...quick, effortless....we cut, added clip or rivet masters to the packages as needed, marked and boxed (vendors supplied their individual packing boxes) and put into inventory, keeping the shelves full. Custom cut special lengths on demand. Just 1 of my many duties there when a youngster.

Another lifetime.

That's why they are called a master link.
