What is a good price for a bike for parts?

Alex, please move this if I've posted in the wrong place.
I have an old '08 Ninja that I'd like to sell for parts. It actually still runs after a couple of crashes in the mountains, but it definitely has problems. My brother has been using it as a farm bike to ride around on country roads for the past couple of years.
Anyway, though it's ridable, it's not in the best condition, so I thought it would be best for me to list it on craigslist for parts. How much do bikes for parts usually go for? I have no clue how much to ask, $500? I'm not selling individual parts from it, but the bike itself.
Advice? Thanks all!

I'd buy it for $500

some pictures would help to determine its condition...
how do you expect us to give you a number without knowing what we're dealing with??

Guess I had high expectations. Go figure.

I mean, it's a bike for parts. That pretty much says it, but sure, here's a pic. Got a guy coming to look at it tomorrow. I'm thinking of asking $650 cash.

You could get $800 easy, since it runs.

purchase for reference

Bought a well used '89 with the fairing in pieces for $650 a couple of years ago.

BTW, it's back on the road, running like a charm.

You could get at least $1500 if it comes with the driver, you'll have to pay $2500 if it comes with the passenger.

That is no parts bike, that is a streetfighter in the rough. I think your price is fair though.

I think it would sell instantly for $500, and you could probably get a bit more.

lol! The driver's not for sale. :P The passenger is my dad.
I have a guy coming to look at it tomorrow and willing to pay $650 cash. I guess I'll go with that. It has a tweaked frame and no title.
Thank you all for your responses!

It flew down the side of Blood Mountain here in Northern Ga a few years ago...wedged itself between a rock and tree. It was my first bike...learned to ride on it. Poor Little Ninj, now being sold for parts.
