shimming question

Hi I took the snorkel off & changed the original air filter, (14,000miles)
So Ian getting the infamous midrange bog,
Top end runs great.
My question is what do you use for washers to shim stock carb settings?
How many washers did your use?
Iam trying to get a feel for where to start at.
Btw I love the sound with the snorkel out, but the midrange bogs a little too, much, eg maintenance throttle in the corners.
Thanks

Check out the (New Gen DIY) stick thread at the top of the New Gen tech talk page. In that sticky there is a few Do It Yourself (DIY) write ups that will help you out.

P.S. I Don't know for certain cuz I have never done it, but I am pretty sure if you remove the snorkel you will definitely need to adjust needle height (shim) and maybe even change the main jet but I am not 100% on that

Start with 2 washers each on each needle.
You can use 3 mm or SAE #4 washers. If you can't find 3 mm washers at your local hardware store, they carry them at Radio Shack and most RC Hobby stores

Yeah, I got a packet of assorted washers at radio shack, the ones I used were the 2nd smallest ones. With the snorkel out I think I was using 3 washers under each needle.
