Hands hurt from shifting and braking
My hands hurts from shifting and braking. What's the best solution for this?
I can deal with the braking, but is there a way to lighten the clutch pull? Thanks in advance |

Put less weight on your wrists. The reason your hands hurt isn't the squeezing of the levers, it's the angle that your hands are at while they're squeezing, due to the weight on your wrists.
Hold more weight in your knees and back, less weight in your wrists. It's hard when braking or shifting your weight around, but having less weight on the bars is a good thing. It's a good skill to practice |

Agree with both. Two things that helped me:
1. Hold yourself up with your core, don't rest on your arms. A good way to do this is to try and tighten up your abs while riding, you should feel no pressure in your elbows if you're doing this correctly. 2. Adjustable Levers. I got Pazzo's myself -- www.pazzoracing.com |

It's called limp wrist syndrome. It only happens to the sweetest of riders.

If you have small hands and the clutch is engaging to far away, when it is resting on the tip of your fingers then adjustable levers help a lot. I got Pazz knockoffs for less than 40 and they work great.

Lubricate the clutch cable and the pivots of the lever and cable's heads (upper and lower).
Try grabbing the lever more towards its left end, so your fingers have more leverage. When not counter-steering, braking or clutching, grab your handle bars as if they were dental paste' tubes.

Very good video !
Same applies for the shift lever and the left foot and the rear brake lever and the right foot. Adjust your bike to your ergonomics and you will feel a huge change in your comfort and piloting performance.

Thanks for the tips folks. Excellent video.
I do tend to put my weight on my wrists. I've been trying not to. It's also difficult for me since I have a bad back lower spine. I'll try to make the adjustments as the video noted. I'll probably get some adjustable levers too. Pazzos and ASV are way too expensive. I'll probably get some Chinese manufactured version as soon I as I find out who has the most decent quality for the price. Any insight on lever manufacturers other than Pazzo or ASV would appreciated. Thanks again |

Good video, the stock brake lever had me using my fingertips/first joint and since then I've gotten adjustable levers and I can cradle and modulate the brake lever pressure a lot better with a shorter throw to suit my hands.

turns out my controls are positioned pretty much where they should be, give or take a couple of mm. However, based on that video, I have really short fingers. as the tips of my finger are just in reach of the clutch and brake levers.
I ordered the2wheels levers yesterday. Kinda wish I opted for faster delivery. Oh well, now the wait begins. I really wanted CRG levers, but I couldn't justify spending that much on this bike. thanks again for all the insight. |
