Ninja250 Lower Fork Paint Need Help!

Hello Everybody,

I have a 2001 Ninja 250 and I am doing a complete rebuild on it! I have rebuilt for the forks but am wondering how I can remove the black paint on the lower forks? I am assuming it has a clear coat on it as well that I have to get rid of? If you have done anything like this before or know anything about it please let me know! Thank you!

And believe all the cautions on the container. That stuff is bad to get on your skin or breathe. (methylene chloride)

I don't think you can get paint-stripper with methylene-chloride anymore. It was banned by EPA last year after some kids died.

I've used this stuff since and it works pretty well: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SQH6JPY
Should still exercise caution with gloves and facemask.

That was probably a good idea. I hate to lose a very useful solvent, but I had some experience with what it can do when I had my platelet count get so low my doctor thought I was an alcoholic. I still have a bottle of it on the shelf. I'll have to make it last.

Edit: It looks like you can still buy methylene chloride, just not paint stripper that contains it. Go figure.
