That's pretty cool. Didn't know miliseconds translated into several feet. But you also gotta factor in that LEDs are harder to see during the day... lose-lose for bikers

Bahahhahah I love the pinto being rear ended. That was great.

My F4 had a mototeck undertail and used LED tail light bulbs. I ended up modifying the housing to use standard bulbs because the LED's could not be seen during the day.

Actually just the opposite. Any vehicle I've seen with LED lights instead of the old ones have been a LOT more noticeable day or night. Also working in the electronic field and seeing alot of modern day LED's I can say without a doubt that they are MUCH easier to see in the day then normal lights cause their light is both brighter and more direct. In case you didn't know, alot of 'laser' lights on the market use high power LED's with a focusing lens.

My tail light burned out one time as darkness fell, thanks to fellow motorists I was notified of my problem. Instead of getting a OEM replacement i put in one of those LED lights. So far it has lasted longer. Seems to be as bright. It doesn't "glow" and spread light as well as the filament bulb but you can see it just fine. At least I haven't been hit yet, so I guess it's working well.

Some one correct me but I think the average LED last something like 100000 Hrs. No? I could Google it but dont have time right now....off to work..graveyard
I'm in the market for a new brake light. I specifically want one that lights up at the back towards the reflectors on top of lighting at the rear. I found a few but havent ordered yet. I want to upgrade to LED all around because of their lifetime. I'm trying to get all of the bulb types matched correctly first, including the clusters.

I believe LED's are brighter during the day depending on the LEDs being used and how many. I know some are not as bright as bulbs too. The replacements I put in the Camaro are brighter than the bulbs, only they don't reflect in the housing like a bulb, if ya know what I mean.

ya the one's I've seen on trucks are definitely brighter. But especially some of the LED turn sigs that people have on their bikes - I have to strain to see whether they're blinking or not. Plus it usually doesn't help that they're blinking much faster than normal.

Agreed. LED's can be tremendously bright and visible, and those housings on newer trucks, cars, and bikes that are designed for/with LED's make use of them quite well. But when a housing designed for an incandescent bulb has an LED bulb put into it, I've never seen one that was an improvement in any way over the original bulb, and in most cases it's significantly less visible from most angles.

I'm working towards all LEDs on my bike. Rear signals installed, front signals waiting for install, still lookin' for the right brake light. Then HIDs for the headlights when I can afford it both time and money wise.

Nice video tho!
