Sprocket cover removal
I am thinking of ditching this to shave weight off the bike. What is the point of this piece anyways... its just heavy as ****

Mine still has it, buddy's does not. No issues. My CBR doesn't have one. No issues.
No issues at Tech (CMRA). It does keep your boot clean from flinging chain lube, I would imagine. |

It does somewhat keep dirt/sand from building up around the chain/sprocket area; and I also imagine it would have kept me from losing my front sprocket nut when it came undone but ultimately I would lose it if you plan on racing.

It also serves as an outboard support for your shift shaft.
