No spark on 2004 ninja 250 after aftermarket ignition
I recently got a new aftermarket ignition after losing my old key but now I have no spark coils cdi and everything else is fine but I have no spark after installing the ignition so I tried installing the resistor wire but I have no clue if I did it right or good enough

Hi and welcome to Ninjette!
No, you want resistor in-line with grey wire, not parallel to it. Meaning, you don't add resistor to circuit, you replace wire with it. So remove short jumper section of wire and put resistor in its place. before after A simpler way to do it is leave ignition-switch alone. Clip grey-wire somewhere just before ECU connector and insert 100-ohm resistor in-line (in series) with wire. This way, you can use any ignition-switch now or in future and never have to do this mod again. Picture is example only, use actual 100-ohm resistor. Also confirm your work by making 2 voltage measurements: 1. measure voltage at battery's +12v terminal. Voltage = ??? 2. measure voltage on grey wire going into ECU at connector. Voltage = ??? Those numbers will answer all your questions about this. Good luck! Last futzed with by DannoXYZ; October 7th, 2021 at 08:51 AM. |
