Bike took off. Dropped. But I could swear it wasn't on.
Very odd. I dropped my bike taking off in what seemed like popping the clutch. The bike took off so fast while I was unprepared. I turned off the engine as it fell to the side and picked it back up.
It happened so fast I was like what the heck just happened. I know better not to pop the clutch. Can't be. So what happened... Then I ran it back over in my head, what really happened and am wondering how it was even possible. I pressed the starter, she turned on. I put it in first gear and got ready to go. Gave it throttle and it died. Common. So I held in the clutch again. Pressed the starter again but this time nothing, no sound as if it was dead. I looked at the engine switch and key, both in on positions. Gas good. At this point no firm grip on the clutch, Since I'm feeling the bike didn't turn on and I hear nothing. I start giving it tons of throttle to try and flood the engine to see if it will help when I go to restart. (At this point the bike is quiet. No sound) But Suddenly the bike pops and takes off super fast. That's when I dropped it. I'm wondering what the heck. The bike wasn't even on. Is this even possible? That's what I remember. Could the bike have started with no sound and got triggered suddenly with some throttle? Please tell me I'm not crazy. (Or could it be right after giving it a lot of throttle while off, i hit the starter switch real quick again and it picked up that throttle and since the clutch was disengaged obviously it took off.) Memory is fuzzy here. I just know it was off when I was giving it throttle here. Or at least it sounded like it was. Either way. From now on i'm going to always put my bike back in neutral between starting and stopping. Too many distractions. It's just killing me to remember exactly what happened that got it moving. |

I knew it! Wait are you being sarcastic. Lol. I never heard that word. But it does seem that's what happened.

Sounds to me like your bike needs a minister, not a mechanic. It's possessed. Put some holy water in the radiator.

http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/Underst...afety_switches Did you crank the starter while holding the throttle full open? If yes, that made the mix lean rather than flooding the engine. If not, nothing happened other than open the butterfly valves in the carbs. For your bike to jump forward, some combustion must have happened. If ignition was off, this would be the only rare but possible cause: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engine...g#Pre-ignition https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engine...f_pre-ignition

I know only of the world of button starters Actually; I had a go at kickstarting a Honda C90. I failed and made the owner cringe in the process.
