Hey everyone! I'm Scott from Atlanta.

I'm looking into getting my first bike and I've narrowed it down to the 250R. I think I've found my bike too! I plan on riding for fun on days off and it'll be a mix of highway and surface streets. Before pulling the trigger, I wanted to hear what fellow Georgians have to say about riding on Atlanta roads.

I do plan on taking the MSF Course and getting full gear. I've ridden a few mopeds & dirt bikes as a kid but it's been a long time.

I am probably not much help to you about riding Atlanta roads, I live up in Gainesville...I usually don't ride inside the perimeter unless I have to. I am usually in the Roswell, Alpharetta, Marietta area though and I have never had problems riding around there. I have been to the airport a few times on the motorcycle and had no issues. Just always know which way you are going prior to riding but since you live there you know this already. I am up in Gainesville and we had our first North Georgia Group Ride. Maybe you can join our next one some time in October. We had lots of NewBies and had a great SAFE & FUN ride.

Welcome to the forum! I live in Sandy Springs and don't mind taking you around my fave local roads to get you some seat time at low speeds.

Hello from the south side! I'm not a fan of riding ITP unless I have to. I don't even like driving my car in that cluster%$#^. I stay as far away from the city as I can. There's lots of great riding on the north AND south sides of the city!
