G'day, folks!

Just dropping in to say hi! I've got a 2010 250R Limited Edition as my daily ride. It's done just over 26,000 kms on the stock IRCs so will be looking at getting new tyres soon. I know a lot has been said about 110/130 vs 120/150 tyres, but I thought I'd go with 120/150 even if it's just to try it out and experience it for myself. In saying that, I'm tossing up between the Dunlop Roadsmart (Sportmax) and the Bridgestone BT-023. I mostly do highway kays but also enjoy the twisties. Thoughts?

Welcome!

With tires, it's always give and take with a bit of personal choice sprinkled in. Roll whatever tire you want just be aware of how much (if any) pinch you have and adjust your riding for the altered contact patch and enjoy just the same.

Ta, mate.

I live in the north Brisbane area. Would you know if there are QLD laws around tyre sizes? Will be changing tyres soon and I don't know if I can legally have 150s on my rear wheels. The tmr site doesn't offer much.

Thanks, mate. Will keep that in mind when it's the exhaust's turn to go.

I actually have a set of 120/150 BT-023's on my ninja. I think they're freaking awesome. I commute 99% freeway and they've lasted me 14,000 miles and counting. Welcome to the forums!

Ninja has a 3.5" rim

Stick to a 130.

So, I finally ditched my 30,000 km-old IRCs and replaced them with 120/60 and 150/70 Pirelli Angel STs on 3in front and 4.5in rear VROSSIs!

Check 'em out here --> http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showp...&postcount=250

US$310 delivered to Aus, mate. Took 9 weeks to get here, tho.
Yeah, was thinking about getting the Rosso IIs, but I use the bike mostly for commuting so went for the Angel STs instead.
Haven't done a lot of riding as we've just had a wet weekend in Brissie, but the bike feels like it 'drops' into turns, if that makes sense. I'm pretty sure it's explained in one of the threads here that talks about tyre sizes.

Haven't done a lot of riding yet, but will try to let you know how I go when I do.
