Hi check this out. Do you think this would work?

Oooooh, like one of these:

Looks simple enough. Unless you mean for mounting somewhere on the bike instead of your arm, as long as it straps on securely and the gps fits, I can't see any reason why that wouldn't work. The only real draw back I can see is the lack of real life fast travel

Only other issue I see is you can't use it without letting go of the throttle.

Refocusing your eyes to read the GPS takes longer than it seems. I'd be concerned about an arm mount being distracting. I have a Garmin Nuvi 350 on a RAM handlebar mount on my DR650. I have it mounted high enough that the eye movement is minimized. GPS is held securely, but can be dismounted in a second or two.

Looks like that could only be used for listening to music or talking on your phone if you have a bluetooth headset. GPS? Waaay too dangerous.

I would recommend a RAM mount. Here are a few installations on my cycles:

+1 on the RAM mount. I've used those for years and they're awesome.

M,

what is that little thing that is mounted on the right side of the fairing on the '05 Ninjette? Is that a powerlet hookup or something?

The 'eye' in the right fairing is for my headlight modulator. It turns off the modulator when the ambient light level drops.

Good choice. Best to be careful of armbands. If you're carrying something of any thickness (i.e. the GPS in an armband) and take a fall, it is a good impact point. And a raised impact point it is a prime place for a bone to snap over. For the same reason, best not to carry toll road devices on an armband.

Yes, the ram mount looks to be my best bet for now, unless anyone have any other ideas.

Cool

I've been using the same GPS model since 2001, just on many different motos.

I like to keep the GPS screen within the center line view of vision, less time eye spent drifting from direction of travel when riding.
Sometimes the GPS unit may block the view of speedometer, but GPS unit display more accurate speed reading anyway.

RAM mount on the handlebar is how I mount mine:

I see you've got it mounted to the windscreen bolt. How is that working for you? What was the mount model you used to do that? Did you get it from GPS City? I've seen the bar-mounted RAM mount in person, and that seemed to work great, but protected a bit from the elements and the wind would be better, so this option is intriguing.

I get all of my RAM mount equipment from expressmounts.com . The bolt location works great. No problems coming lose or anything. I don't remember the actual part numbers but I used the offset hole mount \_ and a swivel bar which for the bar I had to search the entire catalog of parts to find that one but it was worth it. If I get a chance I'll spill the beans..I've got quite a few private messages asking the same thing.

It's in Kilometers. It's low because this is the bike the insurance company bought me to replace the one that was totalled when a car hit me.

I'm starting to be able to ride it more now but I'm still going through physical therapy.

That's the nice thing about the rubber ball joints combined with the plastic arms... no noticeable vibration.

Just spent 45 minutes trying to recreate your setup on expressmounts.com, no luck. Give a brother a helping hand?

The trick is you have to go under the components tab and click on ball B type.
http://www.expressmounts.com/ram-mou...b-200-12u.html

For the actual angled mounting point...I would link this thread in an email and ask expressmount.com if they know what part# it is. I can't find it and I'm a little busy atm with work. Sorry.

Thanks! I hope so too. I guess if I look at it in a possitive way...my foot and knee is a weather guesser. I get pain in my knee and foot when it starts to turn cold aka arthritis It's all good.
