At home Fender Removal

A little time and creativity led to me removing the stock fender and creating my own tail.

I used a dremel to remove the tail then I bought some brackets to mount my plate but was unable to mount it in the location originally planned. the OEM plate bracket hit the turn signal mounts so I had to move it back.

I also do not have a license plate light at the moment. I'm going to order some license plate bolts with the built in L.E.D's.

I would but thats the only place big enough where it will fit plus, when I ride my leg covers it up.

Could you... Curl it around the side/top of your chain guard or on the swingarm all together?

Bike looks good though! You did a really good job cleaning up that tail end!

I'll try and explain as much as I can.

I used a dremel to cut off the section of the tail that I didn't want to keep. I did keep the metal brackets that the turn signals mount onto and the hooks for a cargo net.

I tried to use the dremel as much as possible but there are some parts that I couldn't reach so I used sandpaper. After I removed the unwanted pieces I sprayed the plastics and metal bracket with gloss black to try and match the shine of the bike.

I saved the license plate mounting bracket to use afterwards. I had to buy some brackets and mounting hardware from Lowest (because they give a military discount).
I then aligned the holes on the brackets with the plastic undertail to drill the holes. After I set-up the OEM license plate mounting bracket and the L bracket, i also painted those in gloss black.

Unfortunately for me I did a test fit without the turn signal mounts attached so I had to flip the brackets and now my plate is farther back than I had planned.

I will still be doing some minor touch ups like: add my license plate bolt lights because I was not able to re-use the OEM light, I will also be drilling another hole on the right side for the right turn signal because I don't like the wire hanging, I might also get a longer L bracket to move my license plate farther back so it looks more like a professional install.

Couldn't you put it on the black part right above the Ninja decal? That's were everyone puts them around here.

I would but it didn't fit unless I rolled it inward since its a smaller bike it also has a smaller area right there. I'll try to figure out a different place when my decals expire in December.

The other place is on the front forks. Doesn't really matter I guess...just weird ya gotta spread your legs to show your stickers.
