Nick's Adventures @ NYST

This is a thread dedicated to my time at NYST.

Link to original page on YouTube.

They've got some rookie weekends coming up, and they even offer rentals from Bad Kitty Motorsports! I can attest that you wont be upset with it.

I am in no way affiliated with NYST, I just love the place and want more people to enjoy it with me.

You know you want to come

Need to: YES
Am: Probably not this year

There seems to be a couple guys at my work that go, I just haven't gotten my ass the gear.

Bad Kitty Motorsports seems to post a bunch for bike sales and also has some deals they post about providing the gear for you.

Not with my schedule this year. I hope you get some friends to go though. Nothing much better than 10+ friends at the track.

If I remember correctly, Bad Kitty does rentals for 500 dollars for the entire weekend. Everything is covered, meaning all your gear and even fuel. You're essentially renting this all for only 140 dollars (two track days are 360), which isn't a bad deal imo. He coaches you the entire weekend, and if he doesn't, someone else will.

Pete really upgraded this year with this livery.

If you can bring up your own machine, then you can rent suits, gloves and boots. Helmets are a little hard to come by.

Ugh that was an annyoing day. My wrist hurt from red flags and random checkers

Look for the guy with the Kawasaki cap and novice sticker on it. I'll be corner working this weekend.

I anticipated going with a Ducati group, or possibly just a friend in August but the motor on my 848 decided it didn't like me very much. So I prob wont be able to get there until next year. I will prob just use my 250 and hit my local track Lime rock since its close and be done with it this year.

I'm planning to be there July 4th weekend with Evolve. Will also be bringing a friend with a CB300.

I keep hearing about how awesome this track is, and how some people catch air. It's just a bit of a drive (6+ hours), so it needs a long weekend to be worth it.

When I was there a couple years ago there was a gray haired man with anniversary edition R1. He would pull long wheelies down the straight until the flaggers pointed to him. When the track pics came online I looked for pics of him and found a couple of him completely airborne.

Those darn corner workers, they dont care if you do wheelies down the back straight. It's called wheelie hill for a reason lol

So... this wheelie hill... for those who suck at wheelies, if one were to be full throttle hitting it on a 300, does the 300 has enough speed to get some nose lift photos going?

Merely asking for a friend...

If you can get it up to 60-80 exiting the corner yes. I'd say its very possible on the 300.

going uptown? (the bowl before wheelie hill rather than after) I was able to get the front off the ground when I crested the hill on my 300. I don't expect any jumping on the bike though

yea they got to move that stand down closer into the corner, I could see the intermediate ducati go down but only the dust from the novice. That tree line is right on the exit of turn 6 where you can't see.

It's a good spot for seeing how the riders set themselves up for the corner though.

If turn eight and five work together to call it in, there shouldn't be an issue. You just have to keep your ears open, and you'll hear them go down too.

I know turn 3 can see the full exit to 4 so I mainly kept my eyes on those going into 6. I have no idea what 8 can see of 6. There was a couple I caught over run 6 but they got right back on without slowing down to much.

Just spent the weekend at NYST with Evolve GT. I am a fan. It kind of feels like a smaller Thunderhill in California. I had a blast on my 300, and will definitely look at going again when I can find the time (6.5 hour drive).

I do wish they had more curbing though, but that's just a psychological thing for me.

It's looking like I may not be able to make the 24th. Still trying but no guarantees

If I win a race on the 22-23rd I can do it. If not I can't

COME OUT. I'll be there the 23, 24, and I'll be in the upper paddock. Look for a guy wearing a kawasaki hat, on a primer white, pink and green zx6r. I'm usually near the tire hut or by the tech inspection area

Bringing pulled pork this weekend for friends and invited guests!!!!

COME OUT
