NORMALLY we wouldn’t get terribly excited about an electric moped but this as-yet-unreleased design comes from a new firm that’s already making waves in the car industry.

Qoros might not be a name you’re familiar with. The firm has yet to start selling cars in Europe, although that will change soon. But the reason there’s a fuss is that this is a Chinese company which has decided to make a real effort to be taken seriously. So seriously, in fact, that its first ever car – revealed just months ago – managed to outperform all its rivals in the European NCAP crash tests. It’s also styled by the man who spent a decade looking after the MINI brand for BMW, and engineered with the help of the former head of BMW’s ‘M’ motorsport division.

While Qoros has been gathering attention for its cars, there’s been no mention of anything two-wheeled from the firm. At least not until now; this leaked picture of a design for an electric moped reveals the firm has intentions on two wheels as well as four.
