New Battery Suggestions

My battery has gone dead a few times during the install of the EFI kit and a few other stupid reasons on my account. Each time i charged it back up no problem. This is the 6th summer with the stock battery. I really don't want to get stranded anywhere because of a dead battery. I think i might take the plunge and buy a new battery anyways. Can someone chime in with a higher output battery for our 250's that will put out a little more juice than the stock battery? I'm looking on bike bandit right now and there are better ones obviously but I've never had to buy a battery for a bike before so suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yea, sorry for the useless suggestion.
But its the only one ive found to work reliably with my bike.
And fit in the battery box.

Maybe a better option is to get a higher output stator.

Still expensive but super-capacitors are quickly gaining acceptance as a replacement for batteries. Watch this guy start his CAR from a home-brew unit.

+1

I have a Scorpion stock replacement I got for cheap but found out after it came in the mail that it was a tad too tall to put the battery cover back on.

Pretty cool. He said the bigger ones were only about $6 each ($36 total).

I hate capacitors. As an electrician, I'd choose a cell battery over a plated capacitor any day. And i have had no problems with my Yuasa. Does Yuasa make a higher output battery that'll fit in our bikes?
@lgk have you tried putting in a higher output stator? I've search and the only thing that turned up in relation was to check out ricks stators. Nothing else.

I'm wondering if a more efficient regulator would buy us anything.

Or a flywheel with stronger magnets.

There is a US company that makes bigger coils, but reviews have been pretty bad in regards to longevity.

the seller responded and we went back and forth a bit and finally they said that they "honestly get most of their parts from the U.S.". Meaning its probably off of a US bike but then they said they'd speak to another employee named Carl and he'll measure the coils or give a definite answer as to what version it came from.

@lgk they responded finally with an answer after going back and forth a couple times. "The total width is 107mm across the middle and the width of the windings is 26mm."

If your battery is going crappy, you could try desulphating it.

Any decent multi phase battery charger nowdays seems to come with a desulphation cycle, this will help your battery build up and retain its charge.
