Mine is Elika. Named after a character from one of the Prince of Persia games. I just recently found out that it actually means "Pelican of God."

If you want a character name, I'd go with Elric. Stealer of Souls in famous Sword and sorcery book series. Perhaps Gandalf, The white wizard?

Something fun, Nanook, like the polar bear?
Kermode, the white spirit bear of Native American fame? That name would come with a seriously full bag of good luck.

Female name? Storm from the x men.
Ice Queen?

Sword from Zelda?

Hmmm, Storm Trooper? Imperial Storm Trooper.

Hahaha...I kind of like Gandalf or Nanook. I'm leaning toward Nanook, I'm into the native american traditions and such. Through the Boy Scout organization I'm in I was given my own native name.

Funny, I call mine ALMA for Angry Lawn-Mower and the last A is the initial of my last name.

I call my other bike Charlie Brown cause its orange/yellow with a black stripe. Most of my things are "he". Just seemed kindve odd giving my things female characteristics.

I like Nanook too. It's kind of like a Ninja: Can be mean and scary, can also be gentle, calm and beautiful. It's an Inuit word for polar bear or master of bears.

Nanook it is then, I still like to refer my bike as a she though. It would be a little weird to have a male bike.

LOL! Polar bear girls are nothing to mess with! I know exactly what you mean. My bike is very male. We're like Yin and Yang. The two halves equal one whole and all that.

I still need a new name for mine. It was Sonic but then some car company came along and named their ugly econo car Sonic. And that just won't do. Mine is Imperial Blue. The only thing I could think of that has a similar blue is a Morpho butterfly, but a butterfly just sounds very girly.
I guess the winter months will give me time to come up with something. My last ride is probably this Saturday :-(

I'd like a cool name but also something that reflects the way I see it. It makes me laugh like a crazy woman because I have so much fun on it but it can get squirrely at times too when I'm practicing different techniques so it's still worthy of respect so I just don't know.

I suppose it will just name itself at some point.

Hahaha, yeah you have a point there.

The name will come sometime.

Yesterday I got my bike out of storage for the first time,

You Americans keep using the word "squirrely". What does it mean? Does it suggest that something is like a squirrel?

First Ninjette was Natasha. She was all black, and when I sat on it when my buddy taught me how to ride (it used to be his bike, I bought it after taking BRC) I just felt like Natasha the Ninja was a perfect fit. After I crashed her.......

Secont Ninjette was green. When I picked it up from the seller, he had just washed it. While riding home, some of the soap got in the space below the windscreen so it started blowing bubbles at me on the freeway. So she's Tinkerbell.

Rebuilt Natasha with a bunch of parts from a dozen different Ninjettes, so her name changed to Frankenstein, aka Frankie. Blue tank, black right fairing, green left and upper fairings, black/green special edition tail fairings and seat.... Frankenstein seems to fit.

Americans?
You know how France and Spain touch but the culture is totally different? Or Finland and Russia?
I'm Canadian. Massively different culture, not better or worse but we share more with the British language/customs (Commonwealth Country) than we do with our friends to the south.

BUT...squirrely is what your bike would feel like in a speed wobble. Just on the happy side of control. Things get squirrely just before you come to a stop and go, "Wow, that was exciting."
Slide the back end around when you haven't planned to? Then you do it again a few times just because it was fun? That's gettin' squirrely.

I don't think it's a common term here, I think it's from an american film originally.

Some Canadians may differ on this topic but Vive la difference!

I dunno, Toronto is pretty America-like as of last time I was there.

I think the relations towards America vs GB are all different based on where in Canada you live.

Sorry! For some reason I thought you were American. Temporary brain failure! I don't use the word "American" to describe Canadians or Mexicans or for that matter anyone outside of the USA. I barely use the word "America" because there usually isn't a reason to lump that entire land mass (Canada, Mexico, USA, South America) together in a single sentence... like you said... completely different cultures... like France and England.

I'm sure someone already must have thought of this. I named my bike Kryptonite. It reminds me that I can never be too careful or let my guard down when riding her because it only takes one off day and one serious crash. The adrenaline and fun comes with the knowledge that my bike is also my weakness

You prompted me to read about Rabies on wikipedia. Really horrible sounding disease! Affects humans pretty badly.

Quote:
The period between infection and the first flu-like symptoms is normally two to twelve weeks, but can be as long as two years. Soon after, the symptoms expand to slight or partial paralysis, cerebral dysfunction, anxiety, insomnia, confusion, agitation, abnormal behavior, paranoia, terror, hallucinations, progressing to delirium.[2][7] The production of large quantities of saliva and tears coupled with an inability to speak or swallow are typical during the later stages of the disease; this can result in hydrophobia, in which the patient has difficulty swallowing because the throat and jaw become slowly paralyzed, shows panic when presented with liquids to drink, and cannot quench his or her thirst.

Death almost invariably results two to ten days after first symptoms.
So you probably wont know that you have it until you get symptoms, but as soon as you get symptoms it's probably too late to treat!

Yeah that's why whenever someone gets bitten by a wild animal (sqirrel, raccoon, random dog that no one knows...) they have to get a series of rabies shots. From what I've read they hurt.

You also have to vaccinate your pet for rabies.

Don't you have animals with rabies in the UK? Like Foamy mouth and crazy eyes and everything?
