Slip on exhaust on Fuel injected model

I am soon to receive my 2012 model 250r here in Thailand they are fuel injected my question is this .

I am wanting to change the muffler asap to get a better sound louder so the cage drivers can hear me coming (trust me with the driving standards here it needs to be loud)

what if anything would I need to do to the engine management Fi system ?

I know most of the 250's sold in the States are carb models and require shimming and or jetting to get the best from the mod but FI is a new concept to me on a bike .

Depends on how open the exhaust is, if you would be using a db-killer or not, and if you have a K&N filter or other performance mods. You won't get the best out of it unless you go for a remap, but it can work fine with just a slip-on added, just not optimal.

I used a GP type of slip-on without the db-killer for a year, and it went okay, but i had abit popping from the exhaust due to it running slightly lean. When i also added a K&N filter, i talked it over with a racemechanic who did some quick tests, and he said i definitely should get a remap with the filter added too, so now it's in for a remap

@Bols, can you literally just install the intake/exhaust setup that you want and then send the bike to the dealer and have them remap the ECU? or do you have to buy a PowerCommander for them to remap? How does that process work

That's what i did yeah, they had a racingmechanic at the dealer, and i specifically asked if i would need a powercommander since the bike has efi. He said i didn't need it at all, and that he could easily remap it with the stock ecu, with the only cost for me being a few workhours.

Atleast that's what he said when i had the bike in for a quick check-up. Unfortunately this mechanic has now gotten cancer and is pretty ill But hopefully they have another equally skilled mechanic who can remap the ecu as easy as he described.
