GB on Koso Instrument Panels

Here we go. Group-buy on instrument panels from Wayan Lam:

Koso kit RX2 (custom bezel + P&P koso set + volt meter) $355
Koso kit RX2 (custom bezel + P&P koso set + WITHOUT volt meter) $296
Koso kit RX2N (custom bezel + P&P koso set + volt meter) = $355
Koso kit RX2N (custom bezel + P&P koso set + WITHOUT volt meter) = $305

All prices do not include the paypal surcharge to reimburse Wayan, nor shipping.

Shipping prices depend on how many folks sign up for this. I'm coming up with roughly $37.00 for each of us to get the package to the states, and about $20 to get from my place to yours. To not get completely obliterated on shipping, Wayan will be shipping to me, and I'll be shipping to you.

I'm in on this group buy, for what it's worth. I've been dying to get one of these bad boys.

Party's over when we get enough people to pull this off!

I believe Wayan is talking about 5 units as a cutoff, or 10 if we get enough people.

So the low end of this GB is ~$380 and the high end ~$440 (shipping and handling inclusive). Do I have that right?

That is quite a lot of scratch. I would be down, but I have several other things I need to maintain on my bike. I can probably get in on the next one, assuming there's another.

those prices are NETT price for the speedometers only. still excluding the 10~% and excluding shipping.

shipping cost will depend on how many ppl will join the GB, the more the cheaper... (theoretically)

W.

ps, IF someone can get them over to the states for a better price, maybe due to a more direct source, or cheaper shipping, go for it im not doing this as a business, just helping out if you guys would like something that you cant get over there. so if anyone wants to offer this GB for a better deal, feel free to post. im just a consumer, not a supplier myself

The price will come down depending on what shipping method you want me to use Stateside. As well, I'm not making jack either. I just want one of these things.

Here's the math:

Price of gauge + 37.00 for international shipping + 4% for PayPal fees.

Then whatever Stateside shipping costs. If you want to save money you can have me ship it to you via parcel post. It'll take longer, but it will also be a lot cheaper.

Hi Mike, I ship a lot of stuff and I've found that Fedex ground would be better to ship those gauges. They likely weigh under 3 lbs and the boxes should be pretty small. Fedex shipping rate would probably be around $12-$15 max for coast to coast shipping. It also covers up to $99 insurance at no extra charge as well as giving you tracking info. The only cost effective methods for shipping USPS is by flat rate or first class service. Their standard priority mail is a rip off and I avoid that where I can. You can further reduce cost by having people send payment via gift to avoid paypal fees.

I can't afford one of these right now, but kudos to helping people get some great gauges.

i am curious, if you request the money as a "gift" does that mean that the person sending gets charged the 4%? or does PayPal not charge anything if its a "gift"? i think i saw someone mention that, but its not so clear to me yet...

If you send money as a gift, there are 2 scenarios.

1. The sender pays via bank transfer or from their paypal balance. In this case, neither the sender nor receiver pays fees.
2. The sender pays via credit card and the sender pays the fees.

Why don't you guys try and set up a group by with someone local http://www.kosonorthamerica.com/ then find a distibutor and see what they say. It seems odd getting them from Indonesia.

Just a note, sending money via paypal as a gift releases paypal from any liability. So if the seller decides to stiff you and run off with the money, you're SOL.

I might be interested. I'm still waiting on a TON of parts to come in that I ordered months ago. More concerned about getting those here and installed first.

Do you by any chance have a time frame?

no time frame that im aware of, we basically just wait till there are enough ppl to make it worth while to ship together. or whenever mike decides~

i am happy to request the payment not as a gift, and rather as payment for a part (which is what i did on the last GB) if that makes it safer on the buyers part to have the guarantee. however as i mentioned in the beginning, i will be adding 10% (5% to cover the paypal fee, and 5% for my time that i will be spending to buy, check, pack & ship the goods). alternatively, i could ask for 5% if the money is sent as a gift, but that's up to you guys when the time comes

oh, i also loose some money when i transfer money from PayPal to my bank, because they automatically exchange the USD into indonesian Rupees (at their exchange rates which aren't the best ), even though i have a USD account here... lame... anyhow, the actual money that i will be "earning" out of this GB will be at most $10~15 a set, but at least im not loosing money like i basically did on the last GB, lol

sadly nothing is actually what i would call "cheap" when it comes to farkles, but then again, its all relative to the person buying the parts, hehe...

http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showp...81&postcount=1

that was my old GB thread where i had quite a few bits n bobs~

are you talking about ONLY the voltmeter, or the voltmeter, and the custom fiberglass bracket as well? they both cost about 500.000 Rp each (which is around $60 each) shipping is hard for me to estimate. last time i sent the custom bracket only, by Regestered Post, it cost around $30 i think.

otherwise, there might be a small GB happening shortly with a DHL package that im getting ready to ship out soon (regardless if others join in or not, since the person wants the parts sent over).

ive got a DHL package heading out with a HID kit and Koso+bracket+Voltmeter kit. shipping it regardless if others will be joining in with this shipment.

so its a quick offer if anyone wants a koso kit, we can ship it together, and split the shipping cost between them.

back to the cost of the items however, i would like to state that i am charging 10% on the price listed. ill do a transfer request, so that the 4% gets deducted from my end, and then the exchange rate when withdrawing the money into my bank account is another +/-3%, so im left with 3% extra to cover costs here, which is still close to nothing compared to the time i spend organizing this

deadline is uh, Monday or Tuesday if no one takes the offer i'm shipping the package.

cheers.

Wayan, I'm holding out on this group buy. I was waiting to, hopefully, get at least five people in on this before doing it down. I'll give it one more month. If nothing comes of it, then I'll spring for the extra cash, and just buy one for myself and eat the beating on shipment.

the kit is plug and play. i believe ive posted a semi DIY on the install that i did with my kit last year.

the price that is posted up top by Mike is the cost price that i have to pay for here. the exchange i used was 8500 Rp/USD, the exchange is still the same, so that stays the same.

however, the price that i will be asking will be those prices PLUS 10%. i will send the paypal request, so i will get the 4% deducted from the transfer on my end, then it costs me about 3% for me to withdraw the money from PP to my bank account here in Indonesia, so paypal gobbles up 7% right up. leaving me with less than 4%.

for shipping i will be marking up the price by 7.5%, to cover the paypal charges.

i had an issue with the other GB, where i asked for the exact amount, not knowing that PP would take 4% per transaction, and not knowing that it would cost me to withdraw money, so i ended up loosing money. however everyone in the GB pitched in and helped to cover that. oh ya, i told ppl it was optional to give me a tip, but not everyone did... which is why i was left in the red.

so, learning from that experience i want to make sure that i am certain that i wont be making a loss in $$, on top of the time i will have spent organizing this. and its not just a matter of me going to a shop and picking them up out of some shelves... takes me time to order them, i need to go pick them up, check that they are all complete, etc. anyhow, i am only making about $30 out of a $1000 transaction, which is actually next to nothing. i do not think that many would agree to do this for such a small amount. (im making this clear to all with the breakdown, in case anyone starts thinking that im just changing prices because i feel like it or something). so, tips are still welcome, hehe

im shipping the other package with the HID projector and koso kit, since no one wanted to join it on that, and the goods have been ready since over a week now.

if a GB happens, it will be shipped according to whatever gets decided here

cheers,
W.

Michael:

There will be a group pricing based upon the shipping cost for the five units, plus the covering of Wayan's PayPal fees. Once the units arrive to the U.S. I will ship to you, based on actual shipping costs. I don't see the units being more the $10-$15 bucks to ship stateside.

We're shipping them to me first to save on the international shipping. Then I ship to you based on whatever you want to pay to have the item shipped. I can Parcel Post it for cheeeeeeeap!

i think the kit without voltmeter, and without the bezel costs like $240 here (cost price). with the P&P harness/cable kit, etc.

you might want to check what it would cost you to get it directly in Koso USA. i think the only reason ppl are getting these kits from all the way here is because they want the custom bracket/Bezel.

cheers,
W.

Is this group buy still on? Im interested in the RX-2 without volt-meter. But wondering aprox how much total would be shipped to my door in Canada Postal code V9L 5V9. Watching the gauges fire up gives me a boner.
