WERA: stock belly pan?
Hi all,
I recently picked-up a 2009 Ninja 250 aiming to get into WERA's E Super Stock. I'm slowly getting it race ready, and trying to do so with as little money/accessories as possible. At least this 1st go round. Right now my biggest concern is the stock belly pan (or what's left of it). If I seal up most of the holes, I wonder if WERA's tech would accept it (since they require that it hold 5 quarts of liquid). I see that the hotbodies lower is a bit taller and reaches further to the back than what I've got: Any thoughts? Have any of you raced the Ninja with the stock belly pan? If so, did you seal up all the openings? |

IMO the work involved with getting the stock stuff to work isn't worth the effort.
Buy one.....you'll need full bodywork eventually. |

Without the upper fairing, the belly pan would be held by the 2 lower fairings bolts. Guess you could fab something, but not sure how that would hold.

You can do like the SV guys and use an aluminum turkey pan. Check with the organization, but the requirement is to hold a certain amount of fluid, and then have 3 secure points of contact.

Go on the BBS and check out the first Ninja 250 thread. It's been locked for a couple of years now, but the first post was by mmfoor. Pretty sure there are directions on how to do it. If not, message kkesler on the forum. He knows how to do it with a beer carton and fiberglass.
