Question Help finding a connector.

I'm going to be installing an integrated taillight when I get back from little rock in a few weeks (gotta love having to go TDY to go to any schools) and I want change out my license plate light for some led plate bolts at the same time. But I don't want to splice anything, my idea is to get an extra connector that the stock plate light uses and connect the aftermarket lights straight to the factory plug. Make the whole thing plug and play basically. I looked on the parts diagram but didn't see a part number for just the plug. Any ideas on where I could pick once up at? Any one know if it's the same plug as the turn signals by chance? I would check my self but I'm about a thousand mikes from my bike lol.

Thanks

Yup - related thread on the OEM connectors at easternbeaver:

Ninja 250r OEM Elec Connectors

That poster had the same need as the OP here; wanted a true no-cut/no-splice solution.

Yeah its not cheap, but I'll probably end up buying a few different ones of each type of connector for our bikes and then save em for when people around here need them.

Just remember if you do put these OEM style connectors on the LED plate bolts that you'll have to cut them off or remove them before you can get the license plate off.

Yeah I thought about it. I'm going to get the factory connectors and just down from that I'll probably put in some small qd connections and then put heat shrink tubing around to waterproof it till I need to disconnect em

I'm also an owner that likes to go just a little further to keep all the OEM hardware clean and use the proper connectors to avoid splicing. Done a good bit of business with Eastern Beaver. Jim is a top-notch proprietor and I can NOT say enough good things about his service. Even the shipping is unusually fast for my experience.

The $20 minumum order is kinda new, but for the prices he charges on connectors, it's well-worth it to just order some spares, especially turn signal connectors if you're thinking of replacing them any time. He also sells some primo heat shrink (Sumitomo W3B2) that's got an internal adhesive/waterproofing layer. If you plan to do a lot of OEM-style plug-making, it may be worth your while to shell out for a crimper, of which he sells many. They're not cheap, but they make excellent, solid crimps.

Depending on what kind of license plate bolt you have and how you want to wire it (just lights for the plate or also lights for brakes, etc) you may need both the 2-pin 0.110 plate connector as well as the 3-pin 0.110 for the brake light. If you haven't done much crimping, it'll be worth the few extra dimes to buy some spare pins to practice with, in case you goof up.

I like your planned solution though; I stupidly just wired the bolts together and to the jumper, so I'll have to cut them out if/when I replace the plate. One note on license plate bolts though; I've found the metal to be somewhat brittle, so I'd avoid using any more force than necessary when tightening them.

Yeah I'll prolly order since heat shrink from him then, already replaced my turn signals but I was gonna order a few extras anyways jic. And I'm pretty good with crimping. I'm am avionics tech on c130s in the coast guard, crimping and soldering are pretty much second nature now lol.

Ordered 3 sets of the license plate light connectors, and 3 sets of the turn signal connectors as well. If anyone needs any extra connectors let me know, and you can escape the $20 minimum order from the website lol
