Talking new bike today

so as some of you have read, my red 2006 got totaled on my birthday may 8th when i hit a cow that walked out of a tree line on the side of the road just as i was passing it.
well insurance has finally come through and given me a check so i'm off to go buy my new (to me) bike.
its a blue 2006 and its in great shape.
check out the pictures here http://picasaweb.google.com/ilblissli/NewBike# (added a few new pictures last night)

(thanks kkim)

That's an awesome bike and I love the color. I'm officially giving you three thumbs up under the condition you don't ask about where the third thumb came from.

Nice, you have twins now it would seem. That's interesting that you have two ninjettes that look exactly the same. Both are nice looking bikes of course.

I'm a little confused. Which bike is it?

I just got back from Switzerland. I didn't go to Geneva but it was a good ride anyway. Took the beach ride home.

Let me know when you want to go for a ride.

I saw some cows with huge "long horns" in Hastings today. I'd hate to hit one of those.

Hastings, FL over by Palatka. I was riding RT 13 up to Switzerland. Then I headed over to St. Augustine (America's oldest city) and then took the beach road home. A nice 3 1/2 hour cruise.

update: alright i have to give a little ride report. Drove about 200 miles yesterday on the new bike and all i can say is that I've completely fallen in love with the 250 again.

while my old bike was in mint condition, it was starting to run a little crappy and have cold start issues. I was thinking about rebuilding the carbs the weekend i totaled it. However this new bike has no such issues and its made me really appreciate what a fantastic running machine these little bikes are.
The guy i bought it from really took great care of this thing. not a chip or scratch on the paint, and not a spec of grease or dirt anywhere on the motor. He had also added a few nice things like LED rope lighting inside the plastics so that the bike glows blue at night. not sure i'll ever use that but his install was super clean.
The bike has brand new tires. unfortunately they were the same tires that come on the bike originally. I hate having to ditch brand new tires but those things just suck in the rain, so i'm ordering a new set of pirelli sport demons today.

new bike today

Congratulations! Nice bike. Mine's the same color, but the Canadian ZZR 2005 version - for comparison. Enjoy the summer!

I absolutely love your ZZR250. Out of the 250's that's my all time favorite.

I hate Kawasaki for never bringing the ZZR to the states. Don't they realize how much that would have sold here as well. I honestly want that version more then the new 250r tbh. I don't know why, maybe it's the seat combined with the more sleek styling. Personally I'm sick of everyone making the bikes more and more sharp edged and angular. I prefer the smoother more rounded bikes like the Katana. I seriously want to find one of the Canadian ZZR's for sale and see about bringing it to the USA and just changing the speedo so I have an easier time knowing how fast I'm going.

Drew, I've been riding everyday (between the rain clouds) and haven't seen you on the blue machine yet. Are you avoiding me?

I've been on 415, Enterprise-Osteen Rd, Maytown, Lake Shore Dr. Been through DeLand Orange City, over to Oakhill and back up to Daytona. I've been riding early to avoid the rain. Just missed getting soaked for the last two days. Been very lucky so far.

I'll probably go back north up RT 13 today along the St Johns River.

Hey Sombo, yes, I have to agree with you on your aesthetic assessment. If ever I need/want to sell this bike, you'll be the first to know, cuz I know it'll be loved and treasured.

Bike is an 06 blue and white (suzuki gsxr1000 or Honda 750, Green 250 is no longer, RIP). Helmet is either red icon or Bostrom Suomy.

Haha, Cowboy, no such luck, but luck enough. It is my 2005 Ninja ZZR250 - not sold in the US of A. Sold in Canada and very popular in places like Thailand and of course Japan itself. Same power plant as the US Ninja 250s, but has an aluminum frame and 17" tires, and of course a different fairing (supposedly better functionally). Consolation prize for Americans - the ZZR is about 7lb heavier than the US version, so presumably marginally slower. - AM
