Meh, I usually stick to what actual owners say over reviewers or magazines. Too many biases and hidden agendas. A friend of mine is supposed to get one next month so we'll see how he likes it.

Resurecting an old thread but I'm just happy to get this helmet - Arai Vector 2. It's replacing my Bell Vortex which was a solid helmet but was big and bulky and heavy. Actually had my mind set on the Nexx XR1R Motion graphics for months but ordered the medium and it was painful after 10-12 minutes; exchanged for the large and it was just too loose even with the extra pads included to customiz the fit. My head circumference is exactly 23" which falls right between the medium and large sizes in most helmet manufacturers. Was able to try on a Vector 2 in large and medium and the medium was a bit snug but still very comfortable and will break in nicely over time. Liked the Nexx but the Arai just has a softer, more comfortable liner and cheek pads.

I want to know how those are? i am interested in them. i reeeallly dig the look http://www.motocrossgiant.com/v/vspf...7001wps-2T.jpg (subtly different than most so subtly different ;D). so if anyone has them i would appreciate it if more pictures were posted with how they feel and look and stuff.

My current lid is an Arai Vector Phil Reed. As you can see I'm a big fan of Arais and can attest to how well they do in a crash. Although I've crash tested a Soumy as well they just didn't fit me as well.

New lid
Hey I'm new to the forum and to the 250 (picked up a 2012 Friday) but have been riding for ever. I have 3 helmets and the one I show here just got added sat I went to cycle gear and they didn't have visors for my rf800 Troy lee shoei and I been wanting to get an icon variant but didn't have the money and I saw this bilt explorer and decided it was worth the $100 bucks. I've put 100 miles on it and so far I love it. Just don't look at planes while your riding because it may rip your head off o yeah it's not white... It's pearl white and I added the hawk.

Its the standard Pro Grip Wheel Tape/Stripes(this is reflective white, which looks more silver in daylight) easy to find online and in many stores. Takes a bit of stretching to manipulate sharp curves, but it holds fairly well. http://www.bikebandit.com/progrip-wheel-tape

1994.. It went with my bike at the time.. I can't believe I rode a bike with hot pink/purple wheels.
My FZR before that had pink wheels too.. Man the early 90s were great!... LOL

@yzfr6i 94 looked like it was an excellent year.
edit: i forgot to ask, how you like the gp-tech compared to the Arai? My initial test fit of the Arai Corsair V has me liking it much more then the gp-tech. |

The Corsair-V has a bunch of empty space around the ears, and also feels like it sits higher on my head. At higher speeds (65 and up) the chin comes back and touches my face, which is very distracting and makes me wonder what will happen if I crash. The wind noise is very bad, I only use this helmet on the track where I have ear plugs in. Airflow at low speeds is non existant (again why it's my track helmet). Field of vision is amazing. No obstructions even with tear off posts. It's like looking through a big bay window. GP Tech: Tight in the cheek areas, but a nice snug fit everywhere else. Feels like my head is more inside it. Wind noise isn't as bad, but there is a whistle that doesn't go away. Field of vision is poor compared to the Arai. When in a tuck the helmet blocks your foreward view. Side to side view isn't as wide, and you can see the tear off posts when riding. I need to get the two on the track back to back to get a better idea of how they compare. The Arai is a great helmet, just make sure the chin doesn't come back on you and buy some ear plugs.

@yzfr6i my fault. i meant to ask "how do you like the arai compared to the gp-tech?". On another note, I feel pretty much the same way you do in regards to the GP-Tech. To add on to the CONS, i feel that the helmet is way too big for a triple shell/race inspired helmet. Feels bulky but is very light. Visibility is low in the tuck, ventilation is pretty good however, it feels more or less the same compared to the K3. ehh, who knows. lol
