[NOOB] Good Air Filter and fender eliminator

Hi guys maybe this could be a noob question, but somebody could tell me about a good and cheap air filter, because i think my bike have the stock air filter and the bike have 10k miles.

If the air filter is on ebay is better, because here in mexico many stores don't sale pieces for the ninja, and the kawasaki store they sold me the air filter in $50-$60.

I hope somebody can help me

Do you have service manual? Factory filter should be washed yearly and re-oiled. It will easily last 40-50k miles. Although it will wear more with age than miles. If yours is crumbling from lack of oil, get one of these.

I got one of those for my race bike and use K&N filter oil from spray can.

But I noticed that i don't see anything through the air filter when put at the sun, or that is not a problem?

Should not be able to see light through it. That might be test that shows bad filter.

Did you wash filter? Did a lot of dirt come out?

You don't need to buy additional air filter. The stock air filter lasts forever if you carefully wash it every 6k.

You can wash it with liquid dish soup and rinse with water. after dry in the air (overnight) or by fan or heat gun (no heat!), then oil the filer with motor oil SAE 30.

Pour a little oil on filter and rub it around. Squeeze filter into small ball shape to spread oil.

That's why i like spray oil, easy to get even layer of oil.

You want proper foam air filter oil, it comes in a spray can and lasts for ages because you only lightly spray it, to much oil can cause issues and is a waste.

I have a UNIFILTER on my 250R, $15 AU on Ebay IIRC.

Some of the "high flow" filters are rubbish at filtering anything smaller than a duck.
