exhaust leak

So the fitting where my right exhaust can attaches to the headers is loose, and it seems I cannot tighten the clamp enough to secure it.

Will I need to buy another exhaust clamp? Is there some sort of sealant that should have been reapplied when i put the can back on?

I also have a slightly rough idle that didn't go away with a clean, rebuild, synch and mixture adjust, could this be the source of that problem? I know just about squat about post combustion issues and how they could affect the system.

There should be a bushing inside the pipe. Check to make sure its still there.

Since the Ninja is a highly tuned engine, any change to the exhaust or intake flow will affect the engine performance. So yes, its possible that an exhaust leak could cause a problem.
