thats down to an individuals taste...

they both look great im sure!

i chose CF when i had a choice between SS and CF from Area P. the reason was cos i thought that the CF would be lighter maybe?

but titanium is light too i think.... so its down to taste and $$ :P

Titanium holds up way better. Carbon shatters on the first impact.

That's confused me which one...
My heart says get Carbon;
My brain says get Titanium;
My budget suggests get Carbon (cheaper);
My actual budget suggests 'I have no money';
The store has Carbon in stock;
Titanium, however, is out of stock, is it more exclusive?

i have the carbon one and it looks sick the silver color stands out too much for me since everything else is blue paint and black metal.... no other silver on the bike the carbon looks cleaner while the ti stands out like a sore thumb

The silver I think does. The OEM exhaust comes in silver too. Is this why since 2010 they started painting the pipe black? Well, this can be a reason good enough to get CF...

But then I've never considered the issue that CF can shatter on an impact...

I'm assuming you are getting a slip-on... I don't think Akrapovic sells a full system for the 250? Honestly I wouldn't spend the money on a slip on, especially if you have a budget.

My bike is currently being worked on by Kerry on AreaP. He dynoed the heck out of it when he first had it out of curiosity to test the setup I had. When I brought it to him I had a Two Brothers Racing slip on, needles shimmed and airbox snorkel removed. The slip on did a whopping 0.3 hp increase compared to stock (TBR advertised 1.6 hp increase)... the other changes improved throttle control/low end. I'm sure with a FI bike the numbers will be similar. If you are looking for a performance gain it's a waste of money, if you are looking for a noise box... I guess go for it. I do kind of regret buying a slip on but at the time I didn't know any better.

Just my

That's what I'm looking for... On a few occasions I heart people laugh at the sound of my stock exhaust... that's hurt.
Also, I'm not looking to boost my performance (well, maybe just a notch). The bike already produces 33BHP as standard (with FI).

Measured at the crank, not at the rear wheel. The FI bike makes roughly 1.2 more hp than the carb bike, which is typically measured at 24 - 25 hp at the rear wheel.

(link to the specs from both FI and carb service manuals)

A slip-on won't give any performance boost.

The only reason why I'm saying something is that I know Akrapovics are quite expensive and you mentioned having a tight budget... just seems like quite a lot of money for just noise. For about the same price you could get a full system from AreaP, get a noise box plus performance gain. I'm assuming the FI bike will "learn" the new system. I'm half dumb when it comes to FI bikes, I know Ryan's bike learns changes not sure if this is true to other FI bikes. http://areapnolimits.com/products/Sl...-250R-2008.php

Again only my 2 cents.

BTW I'm finding online that the titanium and CF are the same price, cheapest $416
http://www.google.com/products?q=akr...ox-a&scoring=p
I'm a total bargain hunter, usually online stores have the best deal. I don't know how to search for places in the UK, but I'm sure you could find something similar.

FI bikes have an O2 sensor in its exhaust system. Therefore FI versions require specialist exhaust systems those include an O2 sensor, and that comes at a price! So slip-ons are the ones available in the UK...
Also, with all the emissions and insurance laws means I have to choose an option that is also approved. This leaves me with a limited amount of options to go for.
APRAPOVIC
LEOVINCE
ARROW
(and some small local companies eBay UK:250R exhausts)
There are no Two Brothers or Area P available in the UK. And getting it delivered from the USA means extra tax money to be paid on Customs...

Ahhhhh that makes sense, that really blows you have to go thru all of that. I thought I saw some people with FI bikes with full systems, hence the suggestion but having to deal with emissions and insurance is a whole different story. I still suggest shopping around for the best price, everything I see here has the TI and CF slip-ons listed for the same price. Good luck!

For AKRO best prices I found:
Ti: £358 ~ $559
CF: £319 ~ $498
(UK prices)
And I have shopped around... The research took ~3months...

Area P does in fact offer headers for FI bikes. They will add the bung for screwing in the stock o2 sensor.

Sure, I shall post the pictures when it's installed

BTW, one small thing... I didn't tell my GF i bought it. If she found out how much I paid for it... she simply does not understand, nor she will...(she'd say I could have bought a new wardrobe, etc.)
I hope she won't notice I have a new exhaust Or should I just lie that i got it second hand very very cheap

with the insert. It's a little too loud for me without. You can feel the restriction although but with proper jetting, it helps.

I was so inpatient to get in there I took no pictures before or during the installation. However, right after installation I went for a ride and it sounded awesome!

Here it is:

Today I rode without the baffle, an GOD IT IS LOUD!!!
I re-inserted the baffle and will only take it out on 'special occasions'
No rejetting needed as the FI adjusts automatically.
There might be a small increase in power, but not too significant to notice it.
It sounds A LOT BETTER though!
