By what little I have seen in her videos to me it looks like she lacks the ability to control her bike properly. It seems like she is oblivious to what kind of obstacles to avoid too.... Total newb she's gonna really hurt herself one of these days.

She likes to ride on sidewalks. Needs to stick to the road.

Is she wearing a full track suit?
Well I guess safety first, seems a bit over the top to me for someone just riding around (and laying in) grass. |

Glad to see she has better gear than when she had her Ninja. She has gotten better since then.

Yeah you learn not to take shortcuts on bikes real quick.
Even going around a speed bump can cost you $250 for new frame sliders and a mirror and some levers. lol "Ask me how I know"

I remember my first bike - dropping it constantly and everywhere! You can learn a lot by making slow speed mistakes and then learn even more on the track. I've ridden with newbies and experienced riders who like to think they know how to ride and critique other people when they can't even figure out how to select a line.
So all you experts let her (any everyone else) be, and offer help with a gentle hand From the two videos posted in this thread, I've concluded that I would marry her |

Say what you will about her but I disagee, her riding is sloppy and she is going to hurt herself if she doesn't start using sensible judgement. I am by no means an expert and have a lot to learn myself but before getting on my bike I spent time reading and countless hours watching videos so I could learn what and what not to do. Watching her videos shows me how not to ride.... Just my opinion

It doesn't seem as though she has authority with her machines..
Then we are brought the the question of do you NEED authority over your machine to ride it safely? I would say so, not to mention, control of the machine is necessary.

Sometimes the truth hurts, but she has no clue how to ride a bike....on the street.
This is the second video she's posted of her dropping the bike in a situation that could have been completely avoided. I think she's spending too much time on a clean track where there is nothing to run into, and she takes it to the street.....where its not. She needs to get off the track for a while, and start learning how to manage the bike over normal daily obstacles like gravel, sand, debris, and other things that you will run over on a daily basis on the street before she seriously hurts herself. |

Dude is that seriously another crash from her? A third one? Or was that other girl who ate it on the gravel in driveway different person?
She had to have pressed a brake lever. She wasn't turning was she? There was just rocks in the street and she fell? I think she hit a bump and got bucked or something. That doesn't add up..

I'm embarrassed to tell how much I've gone down but luckily nothing seriously broken, even with one ambulance ride to the ER (thanks to my gear). You can see people everyday riding around thinking a jacket, helmet, gloves, jeans and tennis shoes are enough when they hit the hills. This girl, like all newer riders, could benefit from good instruction, but you'd be surprised how hard that is to come by. I got lucky There's a lot to be learned from the videos posted so far but hard to identify when one doesn't know what to look for. And if anyone is interested in going for a ride in the beautiful California sun and display good judgment and sound skills, I promise to be a good student There are two periods that are the most dangerous for a rider - when one is beginning to learn how to ride, and when one knows how to ride. |

Some people have it a lot more than others too. I don't think it's that she can't do it, I think she just makes odd choices. If you've never ridden anything before, this is easy to do. Everyone has one or two dumb goofy mistakes. Sometimes you don't fall but you still learn a lot from a split second decision. You start trying to give your self more time to decide what to do. I wear my boots and back protector down to grab a Dr. Pepper and some skittles.. A full suit is very necessary on a bike even if you plan on "grass practice" hehe.

Shyt we used to pedal our bmx bikes down to the store and the chain would pop off and we'd eat it hard and smack sack on the top bar and cry all the way home hahaha. Wish I had gear back then.
Anything with two wheels will buck you when you least expect it. Bike, scooter, motorcycle, busted shopping cart.. You have to ride around expecting it.

I'm pretty sure ice had something to do with that last one.

I believe it was ice also. Considering there was snow all on sides of road and the light looked like early morning. She should have know ice would be an issue and slowed down in case.

At the risk of sounding like a tough guy or a know-it-all or something: yes that road looks crappy but it doesn't look too difficult to go over. She said the road was bad but didn't mention ice so I'm still confused about what went wrong unless she really hit the crack just right. Maybe it's just way worse in person or something?

Good find duc.
Looks like she hit a bump I still maintain. Possibly containing a crack in it. lol She wasn't expecting it and it threw her all kinds of ways. Crack kills.

She's not that great of a rider, that's it. We have to admit that and hopefully she can too. I commend her for trying and enjoying the experience while her skill set expands.
Reason why she crashed in a straight line? Loaded the front instead of giving it throttle. The application of more throttle does not guarantee an outcome, just reduces the possibility of crashing in some situations. Plain and simple, nothing left to see. As they say, when in doubt, gas it out. |
