Depends on how screwed up it is but I'd buy it if I could see it in person first

If it doesn't have a title I'd take it for $100

The wording seemed kind of sketchy to me: "80 original miles"

Who knows, could be a great find.

If it were here I'd go get it. However, it's a 6 year old bike that's been sitting for almost all of that six years, so for sure the tank and carbs are going to need some serious work. After all, that's still the original dealer gasoline in there. The tires are junk and will need immediate replacement. Hopefully it was stored indoors somewhere where it didn't regularly get cold enough for condensation, otherwise the tanks likely to be rusted beyond repair. Also, at that mileage the rings haven't seated in, and if there's rust in the cylinder walls then the rings may never seat in.

The wear on the grips, seat, tires, brakes etc. should be enough to tell you if the odo is telling the truth

Called...here's what I got
Mature, polite guy bought it from a neighbor. Neighbor bought the bike to learn to ride. Has a small dent in the tank and some scratches ( either his knee or the bars hit the tank I'm guessing). Scrtaches would go with that, eh? Has a new battry so I'm guessing the seller tried a new battery when he bought it. Said he had it running...just abit..poorly. Pulled the carbs off....I believe they are still off the bike. Said he's got too many other projects to put it all back together and running????
Stiiiil...I gotta ask....why so cheap ?
Around NY...you will get top dollar but the bike has to be in nice shape.
I'm thinking the 80 could be 10080....sprocks, Tires will tell that story.
At $975 I'll prob get it tomorrow...hopefully my pal will work on it and we'll split the profit. I think I see a $2k + bike here. Any opinions ?
BTW....if i take it...as is... I'd be willing to resell immediately for $1275....it's 100 mile RT and i gotta remove the cap on the truck so...I wanna get something. Sould have more detailed report tomorrow.

If that has a title, buy it. You'll make a little $ on it as long as you do the work yourself

Gonna look at it later.
I have minimum skillz....if the carbs need a rebuild and reintstall it'll prob be at a dealer...any idea how many hours of labor i'm looking at ? I know it'll bring $2k + when running and dent in tank removed. Tank repair is $200....how long might it take to clean or rebuild and reinstall carbs....? Really......to walk away with less than $500 is not worth it.
After thinking some more....I'm wondering. The prob is I LOVE these bikes so much that I might be gettin' into more than I should

If you're going to take it to a dealer to have any part of it repaired, you're not going to make any money at all. A carb clean/rebuild/reinstall will run you $200+ and will only take a couple hours on your own.

You might get lucky and just need tires, carb work, and a dent pulled. That can all be done for about $400 if you do as much of the work yourself as possible. Don't forget you'll have to change the fluids while you're at it. pirelli Diablo scooter tires are about $120 a set and they improve how the bike handles nicely.

Maybe you would have no issue getting $2500 for it, idk. It was new for $3500 and is still practically new. I would go for it if it were close to me. Just don't let the dealership do the work

There aint no way I'd pass that deal up. I'd snatch that thing up fast at that price. I could part it out and make $975 back.

Or better yet, get it running and then double your money and put it towards a ZX-6R.

I'd buy it. My motorcycle is a similar case. It's a 2000 which I bought with just under 3k miles. It didn't run due to not having a battery and it sat for 2 years. I put the battery from my CB450 in, cleaned the carbs, drained the tank of old fuel (it was clean inside) and installed a fuel filter. After all of that I had a running motorcycle.
