seek and you'll find
What knocks me out about this site is that there's always an answer to be found AND...it's friendly.
OK...here's a hard question: Changing the angle of the handlebars: As y'all know, the bars tilt in...a lot. For a guy like me thy're less than comfortable and i'd love a way to tilt them out. Bearing in mind that I'm not a racer and the bike is used to cruise...I like the sit up straight position and the clip on position of the bars is overkill for me. Flat bars would be a dream come true. Any ideas ? Next...the stock seat... I'm aware that aftermarket seats are available for a few hundred dollars. But...I'm cheap. Has anybody rebuilt the stock seat themselves...have pics ? Thanks. |

On the bars, define "flat".
On the seat, what's the problem... the seat foam density or the shape? |

Flat meaning almost straight end to end....where the "clip on" style turns sharply towards the tank, the flat bars turned only very slightly....used to be called california bars many years ago.
The seat simply isn't soft enough to be comfy for me....more padding would be nice and i've seen guys build their own seats before but never thuoght about doing my own till now. thanks for your questions |

With the bars you could position the clip-ons out instead in and backwards but you will probably lose alot of your steering clearance. The seat is either go corbin, get a seat pad, or re-pad the seat yourself. If you build your own be sure to post pics.

can't help with the clipons, but as far as the seat...
if you want to reshape it... http://www.kawiforums.com/ninja-250r...-seat-mod.html if you want to soften it... http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/sho....php?t=746659& http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=489610 I've done neither off these mods, but seems to have had good results with those that have tried them. |

I think the bars have a less swept back position than other bikes such as the Ninja 500.
