It scares me when I see people counter leaning like in the second pic. Its downright dangerous, and its a dead givaway of a squid.

I like reason #4. Although CC has probably done this on a cruiser.

I'm not entirely sure about the merits of trying this outside of a "track school" type of environment...for the first time anyway. It's like trying to master olympic lifting by strictly going on what you learn on youtube. Sure you may get the basics down, but fundamentally your technique will always be flawed.

I made a promise to myself not to attempt this out on the street until I learn how to do it at a race school.....so that I can crash their bikes instead of mine.

ahhhhh...rental bikes!

Yep. The author pretty much states that getting a knee down street riding is pretty useless:

But you can still get your knee down even if you don't lean the bike over very much and certianly there's no need to take it anywhere near its limits. So it doesn't even prove much about your ability.

But until you've done it, you don't know that you don't need to do it.

The perfect place to do this is on a track.

Or they just wanted to exaggerate their lean to get rid of chicken strips at something close to legal speeds.
